Best way to accept one-off micropayments

Hi there,

I have someone that wants to introduce a paywall on their site, $1 for a lifetime membership to access the content. He wants to use PayPal but I'm guessing that's a huge nono? The content is erotic adult stories.

He's using Wordpress so ideally needs a plugin that can be used too.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

PS, he also uses Paxum if that helps?

Erotica is sometimes allowed by PP, see Amazon e-books for example. You could also use some crypto payment plugin (there are multiple plugins available). Since its only 1 dollar, maybe SMS (pay per text message) could be an option (it's been over 10 years since I've used SMS features, so I don't know how many billers still offer premium SMS options).

I used Paypal for micro-payment type stuff for years without any issues. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere they finally zapped my account.

doubt you will find a Crypto payment for $1. block chain fee is at least 30 times that to get say BTC out to stable coin or to FIAT

I know this is an old post but I am new here.

Where is the money in it for a $1 lifetime membership? Take processing fee, transaction fees, monthly fee, settlement fee, you need to have tons of memberships to make it worth the while. What Countries is it focused in?

You're right... BTC won't be an option.

But OP could still accept payments through a bit more centralized blockchain networks like Stellar (transaction fee is 0.00001 Lumen) or Ripple (transaction fee is 0.00001 XRP). Extremely fast to verify the transaction (and barely any fees).

But there are a lot more coins with extremely low transaction fees, most of which even below one penny... Ethereum Classic, Nano (free, I believe), Digibyte, for example.

Litecoin and Monero can be transfered below 10 cents, last time I checked.
There's probably plenty more tokens.

Crypto would be my suggestion. Plenty of Wordpress plugins out there which would let you accept Bitcoin payments. Best of all, keep that money stored in BTC and it'll likely go up automatically over time.

Yes for adult content, no for porno.

They can issue you with a "license" upon payment, WP can consume that key, validate against Gumroad API to determine if a user is a paid subscriber or not.
