Jullian Assange: Don't Leak my adress

Quote:
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange tried to hide his bail address from the public in an astonishing move for the man responsible for leaking thousands of diplomatic secrets.
Assange's lawyers argued that the location - a 10-bedroom stately home - should not be disclosed on grounds of privacy during yesterday's hearing at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court.
But the move was dismissed by District Judge Howard Riddle, who ruled not to reveal the address would conflict with Assange's commitment to open justice.
The judge insisted the address - Captain Vaughan Smith's Ellingham Hall on the Norfolk/Suffolk border - was read out in open court as usual

I don't think it's hypocrisy. Him, as an individual has the right to privacy. Governments and corporations do not.

What about the nut jobs of society, around the world, that could attack and endanger the lives of those mentioned in the cables and their families?

Sounds like the judge doesn't like him very much, LOL. His reaction is pretty funny.

A lot of cables had personal opinions. What a diplomat thought of another, what a diplomat thought of a President, etc., etc. That's not exactly government or corporate conspiracy.

I personally think the address should remain private to protect him. That's how the judge should have ruled, despite what Julian does or doesn't believe in.

because his address is not a government or a corporation keeping secrets from people living or investing in them... do you really need to be told how this isn't hypocrisy?

and when factors such as the defendants safety is relevant? then standard procedure obviously changes... this judge made a pretty irresponsible decision whether you believe in what Assange is doing or not..

whatever, you obviously are not a neutral observer like myself, and if it is really all about safety , then he should be a happy man now, spending some more time in jail ,safe a way from all the lunatics of this world

Fact: It's barely been a month.

I don't think anything will happen to those people. I also don't think anything would have happened to Julian, private citizen wise... now a government assassination, that's a different story. But they will do what they want anyway.

Dude dug his own grave. This is what he wanted. He can't cry like a baby now. He could have just as easily distributed all of this information without claiming it, he claimed it, he wanted the attention. He got it.

Nothing hypocritical about that... Exposing government cover ups isn't the same as saying you are against privacy.

That's assuming that your sense of entitlement is warranted. Any reasonable person is supposed to expect corruption and cover ups from any form of government. I don't care that it's happening as long as me, my family, and my country are ok.

Everybody knows the government isn't clean so what this guy did was out of his element. He shouldn't expect a right of privacy at this point, ESPECIALLY since governments are corrupt

When those opinions were put into writing in duecorse of his work then he no longer has those as private thoughts.

Its not like thus guy gave away the address of the Presidents Mothers house.

Fact: This is being reported by the Daily Mail. They just print lies. It's nickname is the Daily Heil.

a few thoughts.

i don't think he directly posted anyones personal info/address/etc. His leaks are generally exposing what is already supposed to be transparent.

I wonder if he didn't ask on purpose knowing it would be denied to show the hypocracy of the government/courts in expecting him to be transparent while they are not.

this quote seems appropriate either way.

"I never trusted that guy, for all I know he had me set up and had my friend Angel Hernandez killed"
