Mac iMovie question: Black line around logo on movies

hi gang
One of my girls sends me her videos already edited (long story), but she keeps getting these black lines around the logo. She edits her movies with iMovie in her Mac, and has tried GIF, PSD and PNG formats, as well as all possible sizes, and it's still there. I don't own a Mac, or use iMovie so I must ask: does anyone know how to get rid of the black lines?

this is what I'm talking about:

thanks a ton!

Looks like an issue with the graphics source file. Have her recheck the watermark and make sure that her background layer is transparent and save out as a PNG.

the logo is a transparent PNG, so I don't think that's the problem

Very well maybe, but if you have a layer that has black outside the crop mark and you choose black as your knockout color the black lines will show up.

I am pretty confident this is a design error, not a platform error.

Try changing the size of the logo, make it a little taller.

could be an area dedicated in iMovie for the watermark but being larger than watermark file itself. just a random guess as i never used the software

would be good to see png file she is using there

Are you able to set the ratio of the image in iMovie? I know some video software will squish an image a little and knock the ratio out. That could be the issue.

This is why I use my mac for a door stop now.
