We are having to resist until Boxing Day when our entire friend base is going to see it together on the Imax 3D. There was no way we weren't going to see it.

I actually stumbled into being at the premier in London. We were out for drinks and found out it was going on next door.

I wasn't a big fan of the original, but the more previews I see of this movie the more I think I will go see it on the big screen

I heard it got terrible ratings because the plot sucks and the movie heavily depends on 3-d

The 3D experience of the movie looks promising, that's about it...

Here's a couple of things to know about Tron before you go see it:

- So far, it has an IMDB rating of 8.0.

- Jeff Bridges, in his 60's, plays a 30 year old version of himself. Instead of makeup, he wore a helmet with 4 cameras attached, pointing at his face, to create "performance capture" data-points, like Avatar. The younger Jeff Bridges is all CG. It's spectacular.

- The Music is outstanding. It's practically a star by itself. It really fits the movie.

- Transofrmers II and The Dark Knight switched back and fourth between standard and Imax formats. All of the real world scenes are standard film format, and 2D. All of the computer scenes are 3D, and 3-story tall IMAX. (wow).

- You will want to have sex with the girls of Tron. Cyberbabes = hot.

I saw it last night.

It is visually STUNNING.

The plot didn't bother me, either. I thought it was well written, actually. It didn't have any stupid plot twists or gaping holes to mess it up. It was a sensible plot that did what was required to serve a movie that is BEAUTIFUL and doesn't suck.

That's what I wanted to hear from someone that probably loved the first one like I did, seen it more than a couple times and this new one I will see in a couple days

You know me well. I own the first Tron... as a fan, the new one didn't mess up how I feel about the old one, or piss me off. You'll probably like it, Vend.

Great to look at, but about as mediocre as a movie could be.

About the CG Jeff Bridges, we all know there's no makeup that can make him 30 years old, but the CG just isn't there yet. It looked good enough for a top notch video game cut scene -- but not alongside real human actors.

The first TRON was ground breaking in alot of ways, and the story was way ahead of its time. It appealed to computer geeks like me, but alot of people didn't like it. As just a movie, it suffered from some so-so acting and dialog, some cheesey makeup and clothing..

TRON LEGACY on the other hand is super polished and even Sexy (especially for a Disney movie).

My first computer had drum drives and a Performance Monitoring Fault Localization program that was state of the art for 1979, so I've been something of a geek for a while now. Most people of the time had no ideas about computers so yes, it was state of the art indeed

Without a doubt, Tron Legacy was the best science fiction movie I've seen since The Matrix. It was an amazing breakthrough in special effects movie. I'd be shocked if it didn't win a shitload of CGI awards.

When people on a forum like this don't remember the first Tron it suggests to me that we are in a second or third wave of webmasters and now we are at those that weren't computer geeks prior to porn. Which, in turn, makes me feel old.

TRON LEGACY IS:

- Good Science Fiction
- Good Visual Eye Candy
- Good 3D (Better than Avatar)
- Good Music
- Good ideas
- Good Sexy
- Good everything.

If you like movies, go see it. If you were a geek in the 80's like me, then go see it.

If you're a downloader who can't give a crap about anything except stealing then go fuck yourself.
