That is really cool. I was in Vegas about a month ago and was wondering why the light at the top of the Luxor was not on. I figured they didn't want to pay the electric bill anymore?? As far as I know isn't that the brightest light (or one of the brightest lights) on earth?

pretty crazy flying by it too. few weeks ago I was going to LA and had to fly a bit out of direction because of turbulence and could clearly see Vegas at night glowing in the desert

The luxor light is not as bright as it once was and it seems they turn it off sometimes through certain nights. like it will be on at 9pm but not at 1pm... but then again sometimes all night. I have limited experience, but thats what ive noticed recently.

Very cool indeed. Crazy that it costs them $51 per hour to run that thing. That is roughly 450k/year for a single beam of light that serves no purpose other than looks!
