Question To Webmasters

Without divulging any proprietary information, could you please offer estimates as to how much of your traffic is actually generated through affiliates?

Rough % estimates preferred and welcomed.

Especailly interested in what % of actual sales come through affiliates.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Yeah, agreed but I'll include "Program Owners", however I think everyone will get the gist of the question, don't you?

I mean this very place is titled "Adult Webmaster Resource Message Board" , so I'm not far off the mark!

Thanks as I need some advice on these matters to run projections. Now most projections are run on the "SWAG"; Scientific Wild Assed Guess" method and mine are no different but I'm trying to have at least some reliable info going in!

Yeah, lots of hard-to-pin-down variables, I think. Thanks for your reply.

think about that

On a board full of affiliates, you're expecting a straight answer? Would you trust your success or failure to just affiliates?

Lightspeed posted affiliate performance results for the top 100 at one time. Don't think they do that any more, haven't been inside the webmaster area for years. Some of the very top affiliates did good. By the time ya got to 100, well let's say things dropped off fast in dollar volume. Would be an interesting conversation with Steve considering how well some of those sites did.

I'd speculate a great variation from program to program. That and things have changed with time.

Oh, Hell no I wasn't going to trust it all to affiliate marketing but thanks for your concern! Just trying to work numbers as I earlier wrote.

Yeah, straight answers are very difficult to get around here but you are indeed a straight shooter and thanks for your very insightful reply!

on average across all affiliate programs probably around 50%, but it varies widely, anywhere from <10% to 90%+...
