Political Philosophy Quiz
http://politicalquiz.net/
Here's my results The Quiz The following are your scores. They are based on a gradual range of 0 to 12. For instance, a Conservative/Progressive score of 3 and 0 will both yield a result of social conservative, yet 0 would be an extreme conservative and 3 a moderate conservative Conservative/Progressive score: 2 You are a social conservative. You believe in traditional values, and care first and foremost about your country, your family, and your religion. You dislike the agenda of the left because you see them as trying to destroy these things. Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 6 You are a Moderate Capitalist. You support an economy that is by and large a free market, but has public programs to help people who can't help themselves or need a little help. Pretty much you believe in the American economy how it currently is. Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 0 You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism. Pacifist/Militarist score: 3 You're a Pacifist. You are angered that the United States thinks it should dominate the world through its military force. You think that the only time war is necessary is when we are in direct danger of being attacked. You also believe the US spends way too much of its money on defense, as we can practically cut it in half and still easily defend ourselves, and use that money to fix all our economic problems. Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Libertarian

The following are your scores. They are based on a gradual range of 0 to 12. For instance, a Conservative/Progressive score of 3 and 0 will both yield a result of social conservative, yet 0 would be an extreme conservative and 3 a moderate conservative
Conservative/Progressive score: 8 You are a social moderate. You think the progressive movement is overall well meaning, but sometimes it goes too far. On issues like abortion and affirmative action, you see the negatives of both extremes on the issue. You probably value religion, but at the same time you think it should still stay separate from the government Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 12 You're a Social Capitalist, you think that, left to its own, Capitalism leaves a lot of people behind. You think that Health Care should be free to all, that the minimum wage should be raised, and that the government should provide jobs to all that are capable of having them. You likely hated the Bush tax cuts, and believe that the middle class has gotten poorer, and the rich have gotten richer over the past several years. The far extreme of social capitalism is socialism. Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 2 You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism. You are a social progressive. You generally consider yourself a humanist first. You probably think that religion and patriotism go too far in society. You probably consider yourself to be a citizen of Earth first rather than a citizen of your country. Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 0 You're a Capitalist Purist. You believe that the market should be completely free, and that the invisible hand of the market will make sure that the people get what they want and will do it in the most efficient way possible. You believe in small government, less taxes, and more privatization. Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 0 You are libertarian. You are a social progressive. You generally consider yourself a humanist first. You probably think that religion and patriotism go too far in society. You probably consider yourself to be a citizen of Earth first rather than a citizen of your country. Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 11 You're a Social Capitalist, you think that, left to its own, Capitalism leaves a lot of people behind. Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 4 You're a Moderate. You think that we all have certain inalienable rights that must be protected, but that sometimes laws need to be made to protect the majority's lives or quality of lives. You might think that the 2nd amendment isn't necessary anymore because letting everyone a gun is extremely dangerous to the community. You might also be against illegal drug use or public pornography because of its possible harmful effects to society. Pacifist/Militarist score: 1 You're a Pacifist. Three out of Four are spot on. THe liberal/authoritarian score scale seems off a bit as I dont agree with all of that paragraph

You believe that that, left to their own, many people will do immoral or harmful things. You despise drug users, pornography, violence, and all other things that you consider immoral. You also think that security is often more important than protecting rights. You think children need to be protected from seeing these things so it doesn't warp their minds, and that the will of the majority sometimes is more important than the rights of the minority. Pacifist/Militarist score: 9 You're a Militarist. You believe that since the United States has so much power in the world, it has a responsibility to keep the world safe. You think that if the US does not exert its power in the world, it may eventually lose its power, and that we can not look weak in the face of terrorists, and must take them out where they live. Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Republican

I took the test but I am not going to post my scores...because I do not agree with some of the wording used in the conclusions made by the test. In other words the wording used does not accurately define my political stance.

I don't really know that much about the libertarians other than they want everyone to stick to the spirit of the Constitution and I'm for that. And I like John Stossel and he's a libertarian

you could be right, i was thinking hardcore dem is very left while libertarian doesn't usually coincide with that, or is usually more equated with the right.

but typically associated with the right, and logically so.
libertarians want less government and less government interference which is precisely what a typical repub will tell you (although they are really full of it) and of course a classic dem would want more government spending on social projects and more safety/health regulations for the working class (although they are really full of it)

Officially, the right doesn't want any control over the economy, but they do want the government to control how people lead their personal lives (prayers in school, official religions, no sex before marriage etc). Statists (Fascists, Nazi's, Communists,...) want complete government control over people's lives. Why did I use the word 'Officially' when I mentioned the left and the right? because once they are in power, you'll see a big difference between their rhetoric and what they actually do. Libertarians want no government control over how people lead their lives. Now there are 2 major groups of Libertarians: Minarchists and anarchists. Minarchists believe in the necessity and possibility of limited government (government that has only 1 task: protectin g the people against aggression) (the American Declaration Of Independence was based on this idea). Anarchists realize that the concept of limited government is flawed and that it will always deteriorate into big government, totalitarianism, Statism... |

You can buy raw milk, just not processed and sold in a store. Many farms allow you to buy part of a cow, for meat and milk. Difference is, you're picking it up fresh from a cow you own. Raw milk.. not fresh basically, shipped around, waiting around, moved around... think about what that'll produce then you'll know why it's not a good thing. ![]()

in other words i think you will find regulation-mongers on either side. you will find that most people who call themselvers libertarians lean to the right- beyond all of the moralistic charades (the emperor has been butt naked for a while) the idea of less government and less government interference (i.e. little if any govt regulation on industry) is a repub's wet dream.

Also, the fact that the media positions Libertarians on the right or the fact that minarchists and classical-liberals agree with some of the views of small-government republicans does not make libertarians right wingers. Murray Rothbard once said that at one time he was regarded to be on the extreme left end of the spectrum, 20 years later he was regarded to be on the extreme right end of the spectrum, while in reality the essence of his idea's hadn't changed over the course of those 20 years. Personally, I don't judge people by the labels they choose to put on themselves. I judge people by their actions. |

That would all depend on your definition of libertarian. The American flavor of libertarianism is solidly right wing. The original european flavor of libertarianism is a left wing ideology.

![]() 2. Anarchists also make up a large part of the Libertarians in the US: Rothbardians, Anarcho-Capitalists, Austro-Anarchists, Voluntaryists,... |

remember kids. choose your libertarianism wisely, or you may wake up one day standing in the middle of a tea party rally holding a obama = antichrist sign.

Just not answering truthfully the questions...
If they would, then Libertarians would fare much better in elections ... but in fact those are republicans trying to pass for libertarians ... Remember Juda`s answer ???

The Left believes there's a certain role the State should play.
The Right believes there's a certain roles the state should play. Statists believe there's a certain role the ste should play. Libertarians oppose the idea of the State. There are lots of different types of libertarians... some see a role for a limited type of government, others believe in the private production of defense. Some believe in property rights, others don't,... So Anarcho-Capitalists, Agorists, Minarchists, Anarho-syndicalists, Communist-anarchists, Christian Anarchists, green anarchists, ... they all have one thing in common: They oppose the idea of the State. |

So while you could try to superimpose the classic left/right idea onto Libertarians... as a way to categorize the different types of Libertarians (eg: calling Libertarians that believe in property rights: right-libertarians and calling the ones that don't believe in property rights left-libertarians) that still doesn't change the fact they still differ from the classic left/right.
