they are different, even though the names are the same. So you need to buy both versions if you want to use them both on your mobile devices and your mac.
I like the store so far. Very cool collection of nice apps one click away.

Say an app like Pages. I have iWork suite so I don't need it but say if I bought a new mac book air which I'm thinking to do soonish and got the Pages app what differences would there be. Because the apps seem pretty cheap, so I'm guessing there are stripped down versions.

Pages comes as a standalone app, not as the part of iWork suite. So, if somebody needs only Pages he can purchase only Pages, without the need to purchase whole suite.

It's going to be interesting to see what impact the app store has on app prices.

Pages is in iWork. I have iWork and it shows in the app store that i have pages installed so it looks like it is the same thing. iMovie and iPhoto have had updates since I bought iWork so they are showing as buyable.

I have the up to date version of Pages but it doesn't show that in the app store. Seems like the only commenter on the app so far has the same issue as me.

Are you logged into the Mac App Store with your Apple ID? Did you accept the terms (which are in iTunes for some reason)?
