ISPs are out of their fucking minds!

My brighthouse modem decided to stop working Sunday night so I've no phone or internet besides my iphone. The soonest they can come and fix it is Thursday! Do they not understand the importance of internet in 2011? What the fuck...

Switch providers, when my modems break they send out a new one xpress post and I get it in a day or 2.

Not to mention I LITERALLY had to move my residence because Brighthouse allowed the HOA at my other house to cut off MY account since the landlord wasn't paying the fees.

And I'm stuck with this fucktarded company yet still at my new place. Get a fucking clue brighthouse..

I went and traded in my broken modem with them yesterday and it still doesnt work, apparently theres "a signal problem". Waiting 'till Thursday working from my damn cellphone..

hah.. i remember getting in a shouting match with my internet provider when i first moved into my place.. i had an appointment time for between 8am and 5pm... they showed up at 7:50am (before i got there) and said they couldn't reschedule for another 2 weeks to come back.... considering my whole job relies on me being online I'm sure you can imagine how loud I was when they told me that!

I got them to come sooner, wasn't easy but i'm a pesky asshole..

Yeah seriously man, it's insanity the way these people just casually tell you that it's going to take a week to get you back online. There's a hell of a lot of people who rely on an internet connection these days. They have the entire damn city (Orlando) on lock you would think they could hire some more people and at least get you back online the next damn day..

Good thing I can get 95% of what I need done from my phone..

I have a business account because (surprise) this is a business for me. When I have problems, my ISP has 4 hours to send a tech to my house. I've had them here at 3am replacing a cable modem before. Sure its costs more for a business account, but I get faster speed and much better technical support.

Sounds like you had problems beyond your CPE, but for the future it may be worth investing in an extra modem as a cold spare.

I've had two ADSL modems fail, I found out later it's due to a design fault and replacing the capacitors fixes them (which I did), but the important bit is that at the time they failed I had at least one spare, to minimise the downtime.
