yeah, I have only seen 3 and one of them was Toy Story 3. I really liked The Social Network, although I have no idea how much of it was real. Inception was crazy, want to see it again.

Academy Awards, watch it to see how many pompous assholes voted for your favorite movie;)
i've seen 2, plan on seeing True Grit next week. Why the hell do they have 10 movies up for best picture? They should go back to 5. What the fuck am I talking about, i hate the academy awards! i saw Inception and Black Swan. Black Swan was very good, horror-fantasy genre really with some jolts right out of a typical horror film. But it was extremely well done, Aronofsky who did Requiem For A Dream and PI directed it. I think its better than his earlier films but Inception so far takes the cake. Did i mention i despise the academy awards?

I've seen Inception and Toy Story 3. I somehow managed to not see Social Network yet and a lot of the other's haven't come out here yet or only just have come out. I think I am going to see King's Speech this weekend because it is getting tipped for several of the awards and looks like it might be good.

Here's how they've stacked up nomination-wise:
Tom Hooper’s The King’s Speech is in the lead in the Academy Awards race, pushing ahead of The Social Network by scoring 12 Oscar nominations overall, compared to eight for David Fincher’s opus about Facebook. Shock and surprise: Fincher’s film is not even in second place, despite winning a clutch of Golden Globes, including as best picture, and thus positioning itself as the front-runner. Instead True Grit is in second overall with 10 noms, with Inception locked in a tie with The Social Network with eight and The Fighter scrapping just behind with seven. All five of these films are among the 10 nominated as best picture. That list also includes 127 Hours (six noms), Black Swan (five noms), The Kids are All Right (four noms), Winter’s Bone (four noms) and — in the biggest surprise of Tuesday’s announcements — Toys Story 3 (with a robust five noms). http://www.winnipegsun.com/entertain.../17022791.html Didn't Bridges win Best Actor last year? The guy is a machine.

i've seen most of them and i have to say... what a fucking terrible year for movies...
I enjoyed the kings speech, it was well acted and it was an interesting story but having it win best picture wouldn't seem right... however what would beat it? Inception is a cult film, it doesn't have a fucking chance, plus it's overrated--same people that love the matrix. True Grit had potential, but misfired trying to stay too true to the original--bridges did a pretty good job and I can see him winning again for this one. Toy Story 3? I saw it, it was ok but completely forgettable. The social network was exhausting.. every single character was so despicable it literally made me nauseous, whether it is a true depiction or not it is an ugly story told by ugly characters. The only reason everyone saw it was because people were dying to find secrets to making their farmville farm more productive. Black Swan I keep going back and forth whether I should hit the theatre for this one or not, I have a sneaking suspicion that guys only like this movie because there are hot girls making out in it... I got my fix with wild things already. The fighter, I had no intention of seeing this, then I heard rumours of excellent performances and great story and I just couldn't avoid it. It was terribly promoted, the trailer didn't explain much, the title is weak but the movie was the best I've seen this year. Wahlberg plays himself as he often does in movies but it is unique enough to keep the story interesting and Christian Bale's performance was so convincing I completely forgot it was him in it. Just great. Will The Fighter win? probably not, but that is my pick for best one.

I've seen Toy Story 3 and plan to see The kids are all right these days. I'll see all eventually, can't say what movie could be the best. Interesting nominations though.

I don't think the Fighter has come out here yet. I have seen some posters for it though so it is probably due out soon.
