When Selling Contributor Accounts for a Blog

Has anyone got experience with selling a contributor account on a blog? How has it worked out etc. Did you let them use their own affiliate codes?

Thanks

If you're going to sell a account and people create original content for your blog I'd think you need to let them use their own aff codes?

I'm actually surprised I don't see more accounts like this up for sale or even free since they could work just as well as tgp/mgp submit accounts did back in the day. Instead of a gallery following certain guide lines you submit a blog post.

Thanks Nicky. I'm thinking of the rules e.g. they can use their affiliate codes, how often they can they post, how strict to be on keeping within my niche, the language their allowed to use, how much does it cost etc. Do you have examples of anyone else who is doing this?

Also what to do with someone who's not keeping up to the standards of the blog. And another concern I have is will my affiliate sales completely plummet, so far all blog posts are by me. In theory on the long term this won't be a problem.

Another thing is because of my specific niche I would probably have to recruit them, track them down on a forum perhaps

The key difference with a TGP submit account is that the submitter has to put a lot more time into the post, that would put a lot off.

I've actually paid guest bloggers to write for me, and give them full credit for the posts with backlinks to their own sites, etc...

You paid them, that sounds like they got a good deal, but if they are really good bloggers then it's clearly worth it.

My business model would be that I sell contributor accounts for $xx per month, affiliates can use their affiliate links and webmasters can link to their sites

its interesting idea but i think you will need strict rules on max links per post , minimum pictures per post, writing style allowed, quality control...etc

Hey Stonehammer,

Absolutely, it's a lot more complicated than a TGP submit and it will require the right person.

3 images min, ideally more. No bad language, a min of 4 sentences. With my site it's got to fit in well with the niche. Most likely I'll be knocking on the doors of the webmasters who I trust and who would benefit most.

I'll give you an email to catch up soon!
