Ebooks will make more money than APPS in the future

If you thought smartphone apps are the wave of the future, check out the growth potential for ebooks. Why? The rise of tablets. Check out the marketing trends/growth projections here: http://www.mediapost.com/publication...art_aid=144078

Quote:
Falling prices and new business models will help U.S. e-book unit sales to grow from an estimated $313 million in 2009 to $2.7 billion in 2013, according to a new Yankee Group forecast. The research firm predicts that e-book downloads will outpace those of paid mobile apps during the period, growing at an annual rate of 83% compared to 72%.

All this stuff from apps to tablets are just temporary. Things are advancing so quickly that in 10 years, the devices we use could be totally different. Ten years ago, nobody thought that cell phones would be used less for calling and more for everyday computing tasks. Heck, even just a few years ago everyone believed netbooks were the "hot" new thing, now nobody uses them. These tablets will be same way when a better technology emerges.
