Hezbollah working with Mexican drug cartels? Oh Fun!

http://liveshots.blogs.foxnews.com/2...-with-cartels/

Sounds like the truth, but I hope it's not
Quote:
My military and Department of Homeland Security contacts are insistent...it's not if Hezbollah operatives have been smuggled into the U.S....but how many? They note that drug tunnels are becoming much more sophisticated and striking similar as tunnels being used by terror organizations to smuggle weapons into the Gaza Strip. My contacts also say they have real concern that bombing techniques used in the Middle East to promote terror are now also being used inside Mexico, as the cartels war with each other and anyone in their way

I've heard this theory before and from a drug trafficker stand point it doesn't make sense.

They are smart enough to know 1 terrorist does anything in this country and its found that he came through a drug tunnel, those cartels will feel the heat like never before. They, unlike Hezbollah, have no political motivation to bring that kind of heat and doubt Hezbollah would pay them enough to bring that risk to their biz.

Any pictures of the new tunnels?

The news here has shown some crazy ass tunnels over the years, built very well, air chambers that move cool air around, super hidden away, long as can be... I would love to see what the new tunnels look like, cause the old ones were wicked.

I don't believe it for one second. Muslim radicals teaming up with Catholic Latin drug smugglers? Doesn't make any sense at all.

Now I COULD see the Mexican drug lords lining up a bunch of AlQueda and executing their asses. But that's about it.

And hey...I got a crazy idea...how about making pot legal (and cocaine too) and let adults do what they want to. And then there wouldn't be any "mexican drug lords" Just like there weren't any before we took out all the Columbians. heh-heh

Pot is already pretty much legal in California.

actually Mexico replied to that asking for proof, and nothing has been released.
But for terrorists there would be no easier way to get into the US than by associating themselves with the drug cartels. Lucky for us they're not that smart or motivated (or brave).

My understanding is that the 'coyotes' are not real particular about who they are smuggling, so long as that person's fee gets paid, so it is quite possible that this is true.

Having said that, plenty of unsavory characters have entered this country, legally and illegally, over the years, and very, very few of them have ever initiated a terrorist attack once here. Of those that have pulled off attacks, only one is believed to have entered the country illegally, and he wasn't detained at the time of entry.

Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, the cleric who issued the fatwa that the original WTC bombers relied on as religious authority to bomb the WTC, entered the country legally, as did all 19 of the 9/11 hijackers/pilots. (If you want to get really pissed off, do some research on the question of who signed off on Abdel-Rahman's entry visa application....)

Ramzi Yousef, the man who built the bomb used on the WTC in 1993, was caught at the airport entering the country on false pretenses... and was released because they didn't have room for him at the INS detention center at the time.

Yousef later petitioned the court to release documents seized from his traveling companion (who was not released when Yousef was), which turned out to be bomb-making instructions and a copy of what was later described as a "terrorist training manual".... and the court granted his request. (In the court's defense, the judge had no idea what the documents were, and neither did the INS; competent Arabic translators are hard to come by.)

My point is that it is all well and good to secure the border, but that doesn't do much to secure the country in a broader sense. As easy as it is to enter this country legally, there's little need for anti-American groups to risk the illegal entry over the southern border. Why bother with that mess if you can secure a student visa or a tourist visa and come in openly, with our consent and by the book?

That could be very true. But aren't you talking about getting "illegal aliens" across the border? That's different than the drug cartel business.

if terrorists have plans to follow through on a plot that involves their entering the u.s., they will have many different ways to choose from re: how to enter the country. it's not so difficult that an elaborate scheme has to be devised.

It makes no sense for the drug cartels to cooperate with terrorists.

Think about it! The drug cartels actually want the US to be economically prosperous. Because that translates into more demand which translates into more revenue. Their goal is to maintain America's appetite and Americas' ability to pay for it.

Terrorist on the other hand simply want to destroy America. If the drug cartels help the terrorist, then they would indirectly hurt their own business. Not gonna happen.
