What do you do in your free time when you don't drink as much?

Not drinking causes me to seem to have so much more free time.
I love to watch my television programs, you know, old reruns and the sopranos or whatever else. I love to read about shit and learn new shit. I use to use a-lot of time talking to some of my lady friends on the phone, but I stopped answering it a few months ago, so I don't really talk with anyone these days.

I don't know. I'm supposed to have a housegirl down here this week who hopefully will become a full time 24/7 one. And I'm starting a new hustle called Child Shield, which is a really good program that protects kids from chomos, so that will keep me busy, I hope.. and I know it's kind of a girly hustle, but I hate chomos and the program doesn't pay too badly. I won't make a million dollars but close to 200 a sale isn't bad.

I just don't know.
Drinking is a bad thing, kids... Every time you sober out for awhile and see what you could have had or done you just want to throw a hammer through someones face. Or your own.

But it's always good to be me.. life has been a real roller coaster for the last few years, for sure.

Just some idle rambling ... thanks for any input .. I know I haven't made a-lot of sense or been too friendly the last few times I was on here. Anyone who can't let it go can go get a spiked claw enema, you know? But I did offer my apology.

Oh well you know GFY is kind of that "Internet Cheers" and I know when I'm drunk I'm the Claven ... LoL .. hopefully when I'm sober I'm right in between being a Frasier and a Malone? I don't know

You need something to take the place of the time drinking - Not just the actual time swallowing the drink - but the preparation, the trips to the store for fresh suplies, and the disposal of the empties etc...

For me, I started taking care of myself more. Longer baths, shaving each day, and gradually getting fit... Dunno if you are overweight or not, but I was 231 Lbs and I am now 156 Lbs...

So just do anything to fill the time, but dont do stuff that you used to do while you actually drank, as that makes it harder.

For example, I used to sit at the PC and have a large glass of Vodka Redbull on my desk. Constantly sipping it, and refilling it... When I stopped drinking, I didn't even go online or sit at my desk for just over a month, as I associated it with drinking. Instead, I did 'other things' - Some were cool. Some I never want to do again - But the key point was that when I went back to my desk, I had broken the association...

4+ weeks (i prefer to call it) DRY and i have 4 weekends ruined behind me.

weekdays are ok, but going out with friends who drink (i don't have non-drinking ones) on weekends is a fail even before i get out of the house.

I miss drinking like a dead brother. Been dry since 03. Every once in a while I backslide and remind myself how much of a junkie I am, how I never get drunk, just hung over (never badly enough to make me stop). I can't control how much I drink. If it's there, and I've got a couple in me already, I drink it. And I'll drink any mofo under the table, too. But that's not a good thing, just shows my body absorbs alcohol like a sponge when I should be on my knees from the poison. I'm sure you know what I mean.

So here's what I do: work out, a lot, and play the guitar. Amazing what you can accomplish when you claim some hours back from addiction. And I smoke a lot of pot.

One day at a time, brother, you can do it. If you can't it's time to find an AA meeting you can stand (I'm still looking).

I understand what you're saying. My vice that has to go is smoking. i have tried and failed, repeatedly, always because I wind up drinking. As soon as i drink I need to smoke. So not too long ago I decided to stop drinking this time too. So now I'm not smoking, not drinking. I ave a piss test coming up before spring season begins on the rails, so I'm not smoking weed. The Jew Cat has essentially gone completely straight edge. I live in a fucking resort town where all anyone does is party, so in the same way that I have to avoid drinking to avoid smoking, I now I have to avoid people a lot more to avoid falling anywhere into my chain of vices. All the spare time is blowing my fucking brain to pieces. I should put that time towards something productive, but instead I just sink it into playing Black Ops, which is getting boring fast. I really need summer to get here so I can get doing some fishing, hiking and outdoorsy shit again. I hate the winter cold...

It's astonishing and scary realizing how much of a being the addictions can become.. you said you miss drinking like a dead brother.. I always said that vodka was my second wife. Always said, the bitch is killing me, but at least she never lied to me.

Same thing with smoking. Nicotine has a much worse withdrawl, for me, it really does cause my brain to evoke any horrible emotion it can. Including the "lost loved one" one.

Occasional alcohol use doesn't produce the same withdrawl. It's more psychological than it is physiological. When I was a constant alcohol abuser and quit - yeah there was horrible shakes and visions and things.

Humans with addictions LIVE FOR THEM ... it's ridiculous!!! Use nicotine. Go into withdrawl within an hour. Use again. More withdrawl. That's my life. I've been broke and bought it over food, before. Unbelievable that I could look down on "real drug addicts" when nicotine and caffeine and alcohol have run my life, for so long

I'm at 151lbs, which believe it or not is the heaviest I've ever been in my life. I was always always 135. Then for the last couple years I was 140 without change. I've gained ten pounds for no apparent reason in the past month!!!

So I have been FINALLY exercising (never worked out my whole life) and taking some supplements and all. I think what happened was I had eaten a-lot of fast food, which is out of character for me because I think it's horrible garbage.

Well I'm supplementing and working out and taking those huge red bottles.. I got the creatine and am going to get the no activator and whey protein (so the exercise I do will actually do something)

All the smoking and drinking and sedentary living I did made my cock about half as strong as it use to be, made me light headed when I get up out of a chair, legs go to sleep some times and I'm only 27, now. That quick sudden 10lb gain finally woke me the hell up.

Already quit smoking, but still addicted to nicotine. Using the e-cig. Most people buy 24mg and up and I mix up my own to a 3mg strength. No smoking, no fast food... Exercise

I'll be a-lot better off

With the circulation issues I have I am lucky I haven't had a heart attack or something

Ah well I made it through two sober weeks and weekends so tonight I put a couple drinks back and decided to have this lady come over and trade a spanking for a BJ ... sometimes I think I never will change ..... but I sure am ready to be healthy again .. and at least I won't be "drunk" tonight even though I am having 3-4 drinks and I've been eating 100% better and my attitude is improving

I definitely think the housebitch will improve things and this new hustle will keep me more busy and give me more money to fuck with so I can make more deals

Currently, my biggest problem is why my new dry flies I tied are sinking and where the hell are my sturgeon rods.

So stick with it because it always gets better in the end.

Yeah it's the lifelong roller coaster of a hijacked brain and living for pleasure over outright survival because the society we live in makes it too god damned easy. I try to talk myself out of the bad things (bad food bad chemicals bad this bad that) saying well the natural pleasures will be more intense if I am chemical free

Then, some times I think I need to just get it over with a move up to something better like coke or anything. But there's really nothing out there that won't destroy SOME part of your body (it's always either heart, brain, cock, liver or a combo of all of those with ANY drug that improves someones life) not to mention the addicts credo "1 is too many and 1000 is NEVER enough"
