why .xxx sites could fail
One reason is if such as google do not rank them as high as .coms.
they may (i presume thay may) even have an opt in on google. just like on you tube has an opt in for films that are a bit offensive. I would suspect other sites too may have opt ins. Also will serfers trype.xxx? I suspect typing .com at the end is now a habit. I am not sure many would type .xxx. Considering that .eu and .mobi are a bit of a flop. yes people rushed out to get them, but now do not bother to re-new. I suspect a lot will order, but in a few years not bother to re-new them. plus we could just agree not to promote any .xxx site or indeed any network if they have even a singel .xxx i supose the question will be how will people see .xxx? i suspect they will not be seen as good as .com. a sort of lower quality. also one other factor that may kill .xxx is the price. if they are cheap then people may be tempted. but i suspct they will cost a great deal. and to be hoest many people are now dropping domains, rather than buying. as in a few years ago people bought loads thinking they would sell them. these days they cannot give them away.
