I would like to put out a call for CCbill and Epoch to help the communities they serve.

Since the .XXX tld has been rammed down our throats when we have been pretty clear that we don't want it, it came to me that we could actually kill it in it's tracks, before any damage is done, before any government blocks it, before any state forbids ISPs in that state to pass it to consumers, before any government forces us on to .XXX.

All that has to happen is for CCBill and Epoch to refuse to bill for .XXX sites. That makes them worthless overnight.

What say you CCBill? Epoch? Will you help the industry on this one?

seems like lawley wants to tie the xxx into some kind of new billing/micropayment system?

they should be afraid or they may be gone in a few years.

Why would CCBill or Epoch agree to do that? That just leaves someone else with an incredible opportunity to process for .xxx sites.

They are the biggest.

Let all third party processors get on board. It would end this problem overnight. Simple solution.

I was thinking about this earlier this morning myself really.... No processing, no one will get them.

don't know how this would affect anything. take a look of the top 1000 adult sites. there would just be a couple paysites. the rest is tubes, porn boards, torrents and file lockers.

adult traffic has moved on.

If all third party processors got on-board imagine the opportunity that would create for someone to start a new processing company.

Kind of hard to tell businesses to say no to money.

I thought about that, but decided not to post it because I saw right away that
it would fail.

The result would be no pay sites on .xxx; but hordes of free sites on .xxx with
links to all the pay sites on .com.

.xxx does not stop you from linking to .com

CCbill would be "ass out" since people link through the CCbill affiliate link.
So no .xxx free site would use CCbill pay sites; but instead load up with all sites
that don't use CCbill.

Exactly.

It would really be a huge show of support for the industry and would curb this problem with a quickness. And really, even if that clown opens his own processing company, who is going to use them after all the billing fiascoes that have taken place?

And this would be the simplest solution. No need to continue fighting, no lawsuits, no more worries, and the FSC can focus on something else.

This wouldn't work. Just because some big players like Segpay, CCBill Epoch etc might agree to it initially, the doors of opportunity are left wide-open for any other company to jump in and process for those sites.

And besides, billing end users is not the only way to make money with adult websites. Tube companies could flood the .xxx domain and the .com'ers would buy advertising on them. Potentially we could all be making more money than we are now if this was done just right.

I think .xxx is here to stay. "adapt or die" as many people like to say...

Guys, it was approved, it is now a legit business, just like any other. There was good opposition to it, at this point I doubt if it can be denied the same services that are available to others.

A private company can choose who it does business with, just as they can create their own terms.

I can guarantee you none of them would process porn on a .kids TLD.

When you are in a position that a company like ccbill is in - you gotta play the neutral field

Questions:

1) Would you still buy a .XXX domain knowing that ccbill and others wouldn't allowing processing for it?

2) Assuming Lawley does start some sort of processing company, would you really trust him with your banking and private information? Would you really bet your business on HIM?

Let the markets decide, right? Isn't that what the Repuglican dousche monkeys are always saying? Well, what if the "market" says NO to .xxx and the companies forced to use such domains go out of business.

Ah, what a mess.

Call me old fashioned but I believe a registrar should primarily be leasing domains and shouldn't be bundling in a bunch of other services with the registration. Especially when it comes to a TLD focused on one industry. Depending on how the organization behind .xxx does things I could very well see some major industry players fighting some of their plans.
