When did Lensman sell the whole business for $9 million.

Gives you some idea of the worth of just GFY then. Now I doubt if any board is worth a lot. GFY being the top one.

Trickle down effect of piracy in my opinion.

Pornhub and the other giant illegit tubes come along...surfers flock there in droves. Most freesites lose the majority of their traffic to them.

Since everything is free...sales drop precipitously. Programs actually start closing their doors. Many affiliates leave to find something else to do. The programs still standing...many start downsizing to try and cut the fat because of less revenue.

So that means very few affiliates compared to a few years ago. And the ones left can't send the amount of sales that they once did. Which means less reasons for an affiliate program to want or need to advertise for affiliates (like they did on GFY).

Which means the value of a board that caters to the adult industry mirrors what happened to the big shows the last 3 years as well.

Fewer affiliates, fewer sales, less revenue...

Neither are "illegal" I said "illegit"

And I'm talking about all the big illegit porn tubes full of stolen content. Pornhub just happens to have the most traffic. And this shit pretty much exploded over the last 3 years into a major problem.

Anyway, that's not the point...the point is that if affiliates no longer control the amount of traffic that we used to, and the little bit of traffic we have left is harder to make sales with because of all the full scenes and complete member sit rips by the thousands available, then what happened to the shows (GIANT shows back in 1998 to 2002...big shows up until 2007....now Internext Vegas was in a room the size of my bedroom this last year)...is going to happen to the value and income of an "industry" board.

What motivation would established companies have right now to spend thousands on "skinning" GFY to attract new affiliates? That was the value of this board.

In 2007 we renamed our program from "IOCash" to "SoloSlutCash". I spent a grand here on GFY to have a "Sticky" for the weekend announcing it and announcing that we were a sponsor at the Cybernet show in Vegas (which we spent several thousand more to do)

The whole purpose of that was to attract new affiliates and encourage current ones to send more traffic. That was the point of advertising here and of sponsoring at a show.

I definitely wouldn't do either thing right now. I can't see where I would get any ROI from it. And that's where the value of GFY is at right now.

That can all change of course. Resurgence of the business could change everything. But it sure seems that right now there is a full court press to put an end to the adult industry.

How else can we explain the govt. just allowing tubes and file share and bit torrent sites to operate the way they do? No 2257, no penalties for copyright infringement....the govt. is LOVING it. Piracy is doing what they couldn't do legally.

And now going after companies shooting porn without condoms?

Seems to me that it's gonna be pretty tough to get our business off life support when it seems like the world is putting the boots to us.

That was incorrectly published by Xbiz back when the sale was done. The true amount was much higher.

Completely different economy now compared to then... So all adult related bullshit aside, it'd be worth a lot less because the dollar is worth less.
