Any Americans living in Spain or Italy?

How's life in those countries? How expensive, how relaxed, how's crime?
And most importantly how difficult is it to get legal residency (green card) there, so we don't have to leave every 6 months.

I have a family friend who's daughter mastered in Spanish and lived in Spain for a few years to teach English. This was about 5-7 years ago but has since then moved back. She was saying it was rather expensive compared to the states. She applied and got her green card before she moved there

I just spent 2 weeks in Italy visiting family stationed there who's in the military. One of his friends had his gf move there, but had to move back after 90 days because he green card application was revoked. She could appeal it, but means she could also face getting into trouble coming back after she has already stayed her maximum time in a one year period.

Either case, I doubt there are any Americans from this board who moved anywhere to Europe with the exchange rate of the Euro now

I was in Italy last year. It's pretty expensive.
