People of Florida, obey the law...dont be caught drooping

It is now illegal to wear droopy pants.
you must also report one neighbour per month for suspicious activity.

http://newsfeed.time.com/2011/05/08/...s-its-the-law/

don't get me wrong, i don't like droopy pants either, however i think you should have a right to wear them.

I didn't read the article, but back in 2007 Opa-locka passed a ban on city property.

Atleast they are going to let you away with your first DUI. That policy is about 2 weeks away. Will be considered reckless driving the first time.

conservatives, liberals, whatever... they're all the same.

Politicians love to TALK.... and in the end they all want to give the government more power because they hope that one day they'll be the ones in control....

I think its pretty cool, courts are getting flooded with that shit with the limit being so low. It does not count if you get into an accident/have kids in your car etc etc (or repeat offender)

Duis can really fuck your life up, might as well give some people a second chance, I always thought the model should have been tiered in the first place. If you blow over .23 then yeah your an idiot, but you should not be treated the same as someone who blows .09 (where the limit is .08)

Hell, Canada is even more crazy, isnt it .05? thats like half a beer.

There is a community playground where I live and one friend of a neighbor comes over and walks by the playground with his pants down to the mid thigh with his boxers in plain view. He's a early 20s black man. Not only does it look completely stupid, it's inappropriate around children.

Do you all know how the baggy, droopy pants fad started and what it represents?

The baggy pants are a reflection of poor families where the children had to share clothes in the form of hand me downs. A kid gets his older brother's pants because his parents can't afford to buy him his own. Often the kid gets the pants before he is big enough to fit in them so they fit baggy and keep falling down.

Not everyone is rich and can afford to buy new clothes for all their kids. There is nothing wrong with hand me down stuff however it can be a symbol of poverty.

When Rap became popular and gained a foot hold into middle class america it pushed it's roots with it. They made being " ghetto " cool. One thing they pushed was the hand me down, baggy pants problem they faced and turned it into a " style " they could SELL to middle class america. Now the parents that could actually afford to buy their children new and decent fitting clothes where giving their money to the " ghetto " folks so their children could look like they were from the ghetto.

I never fell for it but it's crazy that the poor people got rich off the rich people by making them think that looking poor was cool

It isn't a law related to public but rather an act dealing with student conduct:

It only applies to Schoolkids on Schoolgrounds during school hours, NOT the general population, and not in public... Do ANY of you EVER read before you comment?

Personally I think there should be school uniforms. I had to wear them in South Africa and the UK growing up, and it made things less about cliques and fashion and more about learning, which is what school should be for.

Silly to make it a law though IMHO

Bullshit.

It has its roots in prison where some offenders cannot have a belt.

Where did you get that information? The droopy pants as well as no laces in your sneakers came from the prison system security procedures.

It's about being a bad-ass gangsta and showing that you've been on the inside. As a society, you can see why some jurisdictions may want to pass laws against it.
