Those with splogs....

I know the heyday of splogs is long past.
Just wondering though, whether these numbers are crazy for a set of splogs using RSS sponsor feeds.

65,000 visitors.
40,000 uniques.
0 signups.

(I never bothered to set up out-tracking on the splogs, and I didn't check all the sponsors, but the #1 sponsor reports about 6000 uniques from the splogs in the same time period.)

Any thoughts?

What niches are you targeting and what programs are you pushing?

Bots? Or maybe the links you use to the sponsors are misleading?

6,000 to the sponsor means nothing if it's to different sites... For example, if conversion rates average 1:1000 and that 6000 is spread among 15 different sites, then that's only 400 to each site and so not getting a sale is understandable.

Generally speaking, black, asian, lesbian and teen....a bunch of sponsors but mostly the ones with (or the ones who promised) morphing feeds. Number one sponsor is pimproll, then a ton of others from sextronix to paperstreetcash, from Lords of Porn to the cam sites, and lots more.

No, not bots - and the links (for the most part) are their own links from their RSS feeds.

That's a better way of looking at it, "spread among 15 different sites" - although the way the numbers have always worked for me over the last ten years, is the way averages are supposed to work --- sometimes you go 1000 (or whatever the ratio is) without a signup, sometimes you go 3000, sometimes you get the signup in the first 50. So I'd think that when you're working with numbers like 40,000, they'd be better than all zeros. But it's a good way to think about it, though - thanks.

not real visitors. rss feeds are useless unless you are sending them traffic from a big site.

Wasn't expecting to blow the doors off with them lol - just looking for feedback from people who've had them for a while, whether these numbers were normal or unusual.

I find the number unusual but it might take a turn for the better.
I have ok ratios with my splogs.

I have seen ratios like that with splogs before I stopped using them, only handwritten sells for me.

Ok, have you ever searched for something (mainstream not porn) and found yourself on one of those shitty about.com type of sites? And it's the shittiest non-info you weren't looking for? that's about what an adult splog is like.... garbage. Most adult paysites = garbage. Shit is just played out, seriously.

Wait.. if those numbers åre from the sPlogs and not sponsors it means nothing. You need to start tracking the feed clicks.

I like ehow.

The only how I'm interested in now is how to avoid ehow.

I wasn't bothering because I figured it wasn't crucial stuff, just something to do with a bunch of domains that had stopped performing. But I would guess that if the biggest sponsor is getting around 6000 outclicks from the blogs, it must be at least 10,000 outs.

I disagree that RSS blogs are garbage for porn. You got a decent image or video clip, a decent description of what the scene is about and a link to the original.

There is nothing wrong with that, except that 1,000 other people have the same thing. So it's not valuable or unique to google, but your visitor is not google, he most likely hasn't seen all your competition and if he has there that just proves you are serving him something he's interested in. It should convert fine unless all your visits are from China or India or some other low paying country.
