Can someone PLEASE help me... I've been hacked...

I can't connect to the network, but it says I am connected and labeled the connection 'unverified network'

someone is blocking me... I noticed my security settings had changed and it appeared to be running but they turned that off...

If anyone is around who could tell me how to kick these fuckers to the curb... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE email me... loryn AT loryntaylor DOT com

I need to get back online as soon as possible...

Thank yous...

If you have not done so...my first suggestion would be to reboot and try again.

If rebooting does not work then my next suggestion would be to do a system restore...to the last time all was working fine.

Let me know if the system restore works out for you...if it does I would run your virus scanner...malware scanner...registry scanner and see what they may come up with. I usually run several different virus scanners as what one does not find another may find.

Try connecting with a different computer, you could also restart your modem and router. This will either correct the situation or you can identify exactly what is "wrong".

Try connecting to your network via another device like a cell phone with wifi or a tablet or other pc. If that doesn't work, try resetting your network (hard boot your router). Gotta figure out if the problem is with your PC or your router before you can fix

The system restore appeared as if it was going to work... so I ran another adaptor test, and this time it recognized my network, said I was connected to the network, which I was't and listed my network as unconnectable...

So I double checked my router settings, gave it a reboot, and still can't get online...

The router will have a small reset button, press and hold that to reset it then load this url: http://192.168.1.1/ in a computer that is connected to it locally via ethernet cable.

That is your router address, the problem sounds like it is coming from there.

Alternately, circumvent your router by connecting your computer directly to the modem. If this fixes your issues then your issue can be attributed to the router, if the same problem persists do not waste time on the router.

In fact at that point, if replicated by multiple devices it would be time to contact your ISP.

I was afraid of that...

Do you know what it is... or who it is...

Is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening again...

I just want to cry like a little girl...

How'd it go Loryn? This happened to me a while back and after messing around for a few days I had to do a complete restore... Unfortunately.

There are people who write programs specifically to hijack computers.

The program assumes total control of everything by modifying your registry.
You dont have any control of network settings, it won't let you run antivirus or do any system restores.

I've seen it before and unless you are a real PRO at fighting malicious code, the only way is to wipe the system and do a fresh install.

IU sure no doubt, in this case though with multiple devices it is not likely to be *ware but perhaps a connectivity [router?] issue.
