That might be the most ignorant post I've ever read on here. Maybe you don't have any ethics promoting adult and maybe you don't think your opinion matters to any of your peers, but you'd be in the extreme minority. So according to your logic, if one promotes adult they must lie, cheat and steal and lack any ethics?

Chris may have done what was best for him financially, but it was to the detriment of everyone else in this industry he claimed to love and be behind. Chris was definitely not public and upfront, he made several posts and threads regarding .xxx to feel everyone out after he knew he was going to take the position, yet never revealed his true intentions. Even when someone started a thread revealing his .xxx hiring, he immediately tried to have the thread starter banned, called him a liar and denied everything. A couple days later when .xxx announced his hiring in a press release, it caught Chris by surprise and instead of coming here and trying to articulately explain his position, he went on a barrage of juvenile posting rubbing our noses in it.

3 weeks later he ends up getting fired and then prances back to gfy as if everything is cool. Of course he acts like it was no big deal because he did it for the money and thinks he's back tight with all his show bros.

I am going to take the high road from here on out, obviously my sense of humor is not appreciated by people here.

You arew 100% spot on with this post. I dont know you but you are the first person that actually gets it....

I was layed off from a 200,000 a year job at AVN at the hieght of the financial crisis. I went from making a shit ton of money to making unemployemnt which barely covered my over priced car payment on my Audi A5.

6 months later Theo reccomended me for a position at trafficshop. Although I knewdick about traffic at the time I took the job reluctantly. Since then I have sold over a million dollars in traffic to the largest most trafficed sites in the business.

I can be a dick. I can be an ass. But I am always honest - I skirt aronund the truth sometimes when it suits me but overall I like to think that I am a good person with good intentions, My mother taught me tio always do to others as I wanted to be treated.

I have never fucked over anyone in this industry and have helped many make alot of $$. I have however been fucked over by business partners and i will ntolet that happen again.... no more.

I really give 2 shits what any of you think of me. I value my reputation which was severly tarnished by accepting a highly paid position at a controversial hated outfit that will make a shit ton of money.

I watched the .xxx saga from the beginning and honestly i have never takien a stand on it. After seeing their business plan from the inside I can tell you with a firm belief that they will be succesful and they are not the evil that people think they are. They are capitalist and want to make a bunch of money, but can we fault them for this? Dont we all want to get rich.

Whe people see their their strategic to bring traffic to .XXX they will come, build and make money. Mark my words.

Lesson Learned..... nothing comes easy... there are no shortcuts. If you think you will get rich quick without hard work think again.

Final though.... change is scary... nobody liked TGP, TGP2, Tubes, etc... but change happens whether you like it or not...... .XXX is here to stay, whether you like it or not. Personally I dont care, I am no longer a stakeholder in that game.

Will and DWB, I apologize for my sophmoric behavior - but if you look at my history on GFY youll see that I havent changed since day one... I am alway a bit crazy with my psotings as I like a little drama and spice.......

I respect your comments lazycash. I've been marketing online since 2000 with a very small segment of that effort being in adult since 2005. Since '05 I've watched this industry consume itself due mostly to greed and short term "quick fix" thinking. And yes, I think ethics have fallen by the wayside for a huge percentage of participants.

I agree with that except for your last sentence. If only a small segment of your efforts are in adult then it would seem completely speculative to suggest a huge % of us lack ethics since you aren't working with us. Sure there are some here that will lie, steal and cheat any chance they get to make a few extra bucks, but the same goes for mainstream. I just hate the inference that because we work in adult that we lack any kind of ethics. There's been plenty of recent happenings in mainstream to suggest that shady deceptive marketing is much more prevalent there than adult.

That's a very good summary of the events and I think the feelings are shared by many.

I don't want xxx because I feel it's threatening to my business model. I run a number of sites and have this as a small part time gig, any money earned is extra. By keeping costs low, I simply earn more. Anything which messes with my traffic, rankings, or finances is for obvoius reasons seen as a threat. I would not benefit in any one way by paying $65 or more for my domains. Some of my smallest sites might barely even be profitable after adding in hosting costs.

How do you think they can afford to pay you that much money you claim they did? Right, it gotta come from somewhere. And I guess you're not the only one on their payment list who'd make a good salary. Which is one reason the domains are so expensive. You took the gig because you needed money, the pay was good enough, but that puts financial burden on everyone else and you don't care - because, well, you wanted to come back to doing over 100k per year.

For that very reason, I have made it clear before and I'm glad to do it again, I will not buy from Traffic Shop as long as you're there. There are other providers and I do well enough with their traffic. Thanks for playing, but this time, you lost.

But in my opinion (if that matters anyway) Chris took a job cause he where sure he can get a job for years. It is a growing market with people with money behind it and not infected by tubes. He is relatively a small player. Who can blame him, maybe the people that are working with, or starting tubes to make money?

I saw Joan irvine huging, small talk, smiling, networking with everybody. She even didn't know so many people hated .xxx (that is what she said, easy excuse to say that you are there only for the iffor, for the children). She is only a bit smarter, Chris made a fool of himself when he denied working for .xxx And posting on GFY gives more feedback than walking on events.

Chris is a small player, let's see what happens when some programs put an affiliate site on .xxx, will people stop promoting? Or when Manwin uses pornhub.xxx, will people stop working with Manwin? I know that 50% of the small webmasters even don't about what .xxx could do in the future or are just domainers They just see another extension.

But at the end there will be big players supporting .xxx and there will be well known people in the policy council. You think all hosting companies, traffic companies, marketeers, seo guys, pornstars, payment processors, content shooters, will boycot .xxx, i don't think so. Maybe they have an excuse that they must provide support cause their clients ask for it (like it went with the tubes and some hosting companies).

Ps, you can sponsor the Dutch Webmaster Meeting and put up an anti -.xxx roll up banner or use anti .xxx promo babes.
