What books are you guys currently reading?

I've been going a little crazy in the Ibook's store, downloading a ton of samples to fill up my Summer reading list. I tend to read for about 20-30 minutes each night before bed

So far the only real purchase I made was The 4-Hour Body (top left) and I'm about 30 pages deep so far; I've heard mixed reviews about it so we'll see...

I prefer non-fiction, world history (hence the Egypt stuff) and of course business-related books (as you can see with the Inbound Marketing sample in the bottom right-hand corner). Going to be taking a look at some Wordpress and Google related stuff next...

So, GFY, what are you currently reading?
Any recommendations?
Favorite book(s) of all time?

I liked Keith Richards' auto-biography, even though I don't really like the Stones all that much (way more after reading his book).

Girlvert by Oriana Small / Ashley Blue

A book on Richard Prince's art.

A James Joyce bio.

Exactly. I do most of my reading on the can. I can usually get through a chapter or two until the wife starts bitching, "Is that what you're going to do all day?"

Just finished reading "Direct Your Own Damn Movie" by Lloyd Kaufman.

I'm currently reading "The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism" by Paul Kengor. It talks about how Regan's primary goal was to take out mother Russia.

The book before that was about US Special Forces.

I finally read The Girl with the dragon tattoo which was good but a bit slow to get going so took me a while. I need fast reads, the ones where you can't put the book down. Before that was The Sign and that one was done in less than a week

gutenberg.org has loads of old classic books on it for free. Pretty much everything before the 30s i think. 36,000 books anyway.

This one is a beast. It's from by Jack London from 1910 and about a guy in a straitjacket in solitary confinement for murder. He has these journeys back in time to a variety of times and places. Really recommend this one.

I've read "Make" about 10 times. Just finished "Direct," nothing new in terms of actual filmmaking details (other than blurbs from Eli Roth, Ron Jeremy, etc.), but lots of new stories, and of course Lloyd's wit. Moving on to "Produce" next....plus I need to pick up the Toxic Avenger Novel that came out a few years ago.

Did you read "Everything I Know About Filmmaking I Learned From The Toxic Avenger?"

There's also a DVD series of "Make Your Own..."

I read and liked the Hunger Games trilogy. They're making movies out of the books, so I encourage anyone who might read them to read them before that. The three novels are Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins.

I'd also recommend Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates by Tom Robbins or Practical Demonkeeping by Christopher Moore

I tend to read a few books simultaneously, some in the bathroom, some during lunch, some in the evenings:

The Gaea Trilogy (Titan, Wizard & Daemon) by John Varley (Sci Fi... really good)

Mao: The Unknown Story by Jung Chang , and Jon Halliday (non-fiction, Pretty intense, banned in China)

The Voyager's Handbook: The Essential Guide to Blue Water Cruising by Beth Leonard (non-fiction, have some long trips planned in the boat, and I like learn all the time)

The Best of the Best: 20 Years of the Year's Best Science Fiction by Gardner Dozois and Robert Silverberg (some great stuff in there)

Waterloo (Sharpe's Adventures, No. 11) by Bernard Cornwell (kind of silly, but ok)
