I believe they were both already BANNED FOR LIFE previously.

However, they managed to stay awhile this time before getting the usual outcome.

I like the "again" bit at the end, pretty funny

They seemed to be heading in the right direction, but then I just read the last thread they were posting in.

And I was on a lake without Internet access so I missed the show too.

I wanted to be present for Alien's next melt down....Was there one? Links?

You know what's funny as fuck? Everyone told Eddie he needed to just shut the fuck up completely and get somebody else to represent his program on the boards. I'm fairly certain nobody meant to partner up with AlienQ and let him have that role instead.

I've suggested the same thing to Eddie about STFU and shoot. He's a great photographer and truth be told, Alien is a great designer. They could make a great team if they would mellow out a bit and focus on what's important.

I don't really follow the drama, but I used 'Thatotherguy' for some banner design work based on some recommendations here and he did a great job at a great price and delivered when he promised.

The dude is a total nut job. Kid got skills when he wants to. Working with him is a crap shoot at best though.

good price, good work, on time... You seem like you have been around this biz for awhile. Normally if I can get 2 out of the 3 from a programmer or designer, I'm pretty happy. I would definitely keep giving him work when I have it.

Honestly...If his track record is good with you then I'd stick with him. From what I've seen, when he wants to apply himself for a client then he typically does and I've seen him have some long term clients because of that. However, he's also VERY WELL KNOWN for snapping and going off the deep end. When he hits bottom again....and he will.....He may very well turn on you.

We offered him work once when he came to GFY begging for work and crying desperation. Out of kindness and letting bygones be bygones for previous times we engaged in pissing matches, we offered him work. He agreed to terms then disappeared and when he finally did answer back he acted like he wasn't being unprofessional and like he didn't want the work... as if it was beneath his dignity, not worth his time, etc., to even consider it.

Show us what he did for you... because I really don't know of anyone that has had a good experience working with him.

By the way, there are designers that work well EVERY time, on time, drama free, but if you are happy with that sort of success rate and it does well for your biz then more power to you.

Just some banners.

http://www.ialien.com/bullsmoke/

I personally like them, so did my partner when he saw them.

Opinion?

I was sort of being sarcastic, just a play on the amount of flakes I have dealt with and continue to deal with on the internet. I have a pretty solid design contact now (as you can see by my website which is pretty nice I think), but for some reason they don't do banners or logos so I further outsource those things.

Dude... seriously? Have I lived long enough to see you recommend someone for work that you say yourself that you've been a firsthand witness to seeing him smoking meth.

Personally, I don't care what people do with their bodies and on their own time. If he is into that crap then so be it. I just would never give a work recommendation to anyone that does that stuff because it is simply not going to work out any way you slice it in the long run.

This is not the real AaronM. I demand to know who is posting for the REAL AaronM.

Yeah, I think they do look good... and thanks for posting them and please excuse my doubts.

I liked some of those old one page tours he did too back in the day which is what we wanted him to do. In any event, glad it worked out for you and kudos for sticking up for him regardless of his past and present issues.

Maybe I read wrong but I recall AaronM saying he was offered a hit after watching him take a puff. That would go beyond "allegedly" if it were the case...

Maybe I missed that particular post... There's been a couple about it... Even so, it's all hearsay.. and given the animosity between them I couldn't believe anything either of them would have to say about it.

Phew... thought for a second Anal Hobbit had kidnapped your nick or something.

He could be the reincarnation of Man Ray but if I knew he did meth then I would never tell anyone that they should work with him... and I know you possess similar standards on who and what you would recommend to anyone so that just surprises me.

Ok... sure, but AaronM and myself would both compliment his work in spite of our other issues so that kind of contradicts the idea that either of us has a vested interest in furthering animosity by smearing him with baseless innuendo and unsubstantiated opinions. Good work and good work ethic are two separate deals and you can praise one but be critical of the other in the same person.

Besides that, AaronM has a well established rep for speaking his mind and standing by what he says and more often than not having some kind of proof, sometimes even photographic evidence, of his assertions. In other words, his "hearsay" of the event is going to make him a far better witness to the prosecution than especially a meth junkie that has forever been prone to outrageous claims, false accusations, and paranoid delusions.

At least imo...

I hear you... And I would certainly take what AlienQ would have to say about something with less credibility than AaronM.. But at the same time, I've watched the way AaronM has dealt with people on here over the years and he's not exactly a choir boy. The SonOfSam thing was a pretty clear indication that he'd let his emotions rule a situation and willingly screw someone over just because he felt like it.

Regardless... My opinions are irrelevant and it's not like I have or ever will have any dealings with either of them anyway... I just don't like things being spread as "fact" when there hasn't been any solid proof...

Yeah it kinda sucks. They both seemed to be going down the right path, then I just noticed they are both banned.

Obviously Jeffrey Dahmer was a good cook too. That doesn't mean he could have ever ran a successful restaurant.

Regardless... My opinions are irrelevant and it's not like I have or ever will have any dealings with either of them anyway... I just don't like things being spread as "fact" when there hasn't been any solid proof...

Obviously you didn't pay very good attention to the SOS issue or you would not have posted such B.S.

"My opinions are irrelevant"

You got that right.

"...and it's not like I have or ever will have any dealings with either of them anyway..."

You got that wrong.

My bad. I had Tempest confused for another.

That being said, she's still 100% off base about the SOS thing. My emotions had zero to do with the business decisions that were made. In fact, I even conferred with some of my clients and other company owners to see how they felt it should be handled and they ALL agreed with what I did.....Even our beloved Lensman took some time to chat with me about it and my final decision was made after that conversation.

It's amazing how people bitch about content theft but when I get screwed on a business deal, after bending over backwards to help SOS, then some of the ignorant people chime in as if I have no right to protect my copyrights.

After thinking about what Tempest posted, I really do owe ThatOtherGuy/iAlien/Mark an apology.

Sorry - I didn't mean to be a dick - have to remember that there are always two sides to every story and I of all people should know that what gets posted on boards should always be taken with a grain of salt, a slice of lime, and a shot of tequila.

I'm a guy... Common mistake though...

Won't bother rehashing the SoS thing... Not worth my time as once you take a stand on something you rarely change it...
