I know its a long shot but I hope Andy Murray wins this year. He's 4th seed but never won a major. Rory just did it though after his spell of close finishes.

Ever try sprinting on a tennis court when the ground is wet? When the white lines are the least bit wet, they're very very slippery; it's the perfect condition for slipping/tripping/injury.

And ? It's sport. If you slip, you slip. Weather is the same for both players...

Soccer matches you can slip, trip, or get injured because of the conditions. Doesn't mean they stop the match...

Ever tried to hit a wet tennis ball?

I'd rather have it rain delayed than to watch a one hit game since it's impossible to return a shot if the ball is soaked. That's not the same for footballs or soccer balls.

Serena opened her Wimbledon title defenseby beating Rezai in three sets, then burst into tears on Centre Court.

Wimbledon ? Day 4

Roger Federer?s hunt of Wimbledon title number seven sees him take on Adrian Mannarino on Centre Court today ? the Frenchman who came out on the right side of an epic five-setter against Ireland?s Conor Niland on Tuesday. That?s the final match on the main arena today ? before that 5th seed Robin Soderling plays Leyton Hewitt and women?s French Open winner Na Li tackles Sabine Lisicki of Germany.

Defending champ Serena Williams as well as Maria Sharapova and Novak Djokovic among the other big names on show later.

Rafael Nadal made it 16 wins on the spin at Wimbledon after cruising into the third round yesterday. The defending champion thrashed American Ryan Sweeting in straight sets under the Centre Court roof. Wins also for Andy Roddick and Andy Murray as well as women?s second seed Vera Zvonereva.

After two reasonably straight forward tasks for the British Number 1, the bar is raised for Andy Murray in the Third Round as big serving Croatian, Ivan Ljubicic attempts to continue his impressive run. Go Murray!

Murray back on when the roof closes, lights and court warm up.

For others, it's not warming up but cooling down that's required

Roddick had beaten Feliciano Lopez, the flashy but streaky 29-year old Spanish left-hander seven times in seven previous attempts, but this time Andy lost

Maria Sharapova and her idiotic screaming at every damn shot is just unbearable.

She might be hot, but i felt like killing her watching some of her match today. No way could i listen to that for a couple of hours.

Makes you wonder what noises she makes when she's getting drilled!

Laura (she is only 17yrs old) gave Sharapova the No 5 seed, a closer match than any could have imagined, showed tremendous guts and no little ability and, on occasions, sincerely presented the possibility that she could conjure up one of the greatest shocks in the history of the event.

Try playing football on a wet grass without a needed football footwear and You will see what happens.
That what would happen in tennis.
