Does anyone remember this "computer" ?

http://cgi.ebay.ca/1971-SF-5000-ELEC...ht_8932wt_1141

I used to have one of these when I was a kid... a really simple idea for an electronic kit, but a really heavy idea for a toy. I loved it!!

never saw it before, but when I was in High School, we were supposed to learn Computational Science with computers that used punched cards. Happily we never had to! Now that I see your picture, it reminded me of that, we never used the computers because they didn't even work, but we start to study how to "read" those cards until our professor gave up

btw, I'm not sure if I remember correctly but there were different cards for different languages and we were going to use some Fortran cards (most people probably didn't even heard of Fortran and Assembler nowadays! )

That was the TRS-80 Model 1 pictured, the TRS 80 Model III came as an all in one in the form factor of terminals of the time.

That's it AK. I remember going into the mall radio shack and drooling over the Model III. If I remember correctly it was about $800, just a bit pricey for a 13 yo geek.

the ram was 16kb(just looked it up).

Those aren't really that old when you consider that computers date all the way back to the beginning of man when Adam traded his Wang for Eve's Apple.
