Ok. OSX Lion for the MAC, is awesome.

It's been a few days since I have installed OSX Lion for the Mac, and let me just say that it is awesome, especially if you are using the Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad. In case you don't know, these multi-touch gadgets combined with OSX Lion's gesture-recognizing software work PERFECTLY together.

After a short time to get used to it, I know flick, pinch, twist and slide my fingers across the surfaces of the mouse or trackpad to navigate. I can nab between full screen apps faster than I could by moving a mouse and the strangest thing is that it feels much more natural.

PC lovers are getting seriously left behind when it comes to technology, interfaces, ease of use and stability. You really really really need to checkout a Mac!

I'm waiting a few more weeks before deciding to upgrade ...

I've heard just as much negative as positive so far - especially concerning mission control

I use both and like them both

The only time I hated windows was when some stupid site that is meant to be trustworthy (a major magazine) gave my PC a virus. One of the ones where you have to go through all the steps completely removing it yourself. Pain in the ass when something like that goes wrong!

I heard that the new Mac OS X allows one to re-size windows by puling them at ANY corner. If that's true, so my congrats to all the OS X users - now you can do the same things which were available in Windows 3.xx Cool system, really

I don't really need to use OS. I don't use it. I just need it to do dirty job at background. What I really need are applications. Why would I buy overpriced PC and limit myself to fraction of applications and games? (also overpriced)

Input, yes... seems like the imac will help me with my Cinema4D animations.
Imac 27", 3.4Ghz i7, 16GB Ram, 2TB HD, 2GB graphics - about $3000. Pretty expensive but considering macs hold their value pretty well compared to PC's.
Looking forward to using thunderbolt in the near future with more monitors.

Hi Zorgman, Question for you.

I saw today on Apple.com that they have a new monitor that connects via the Thunderbolt port, and it looks like you can actually daisy-chain monitors together - am I reading that right?

If I cared about price, I would not own a Mac.

What I care about is quality, stability, and performance.

I've owned high end PC laptops for 15 years and not one of them can even come close to my MacBook pro. I preached PC this PC that and dissed Macs for years....Then I actually bought one and discovered the error of my ways.

I'm keeping my pc, it gives me everything i need for less price.PCs give you quality, stability, and performance just like macs.(macs are pcs anyway but lets ignore this fact) Days of constant crashes and viruses are long over since SP2 came out for XP.And that was ,what,10 years ago? with win 7 there really is nothing to complain about anymore..

There is no right or wrong. Only opinions based on experiences. I've experienced both worlds and continue to use a Windows 7 based PC as my desktop which will eventually be replaced with a Mac when the time comes. My opinions are based on personal experiences from both platforms as well as years of running a business building custom PC's.

You think your opinion is based on better facts/experiences than mine? So be it.

Yes, That's how I understand it too. I think off a thunderbolt connection you can split it up for extra monitors because it's so fast.

Very well said Aaron. People get pretty defensive.

Apple is kicking everyone's ass in the PC world and Windows users just hate that.

It was amazing to see 800 people lined up a couple of weeks ago for our town's Apple store grand opening, and for what? Just to be the first ones to go in. They didn't have a sale or anything. People just love the Mac products and the Apple brand. It's awesome.

I really think people that say PCs/Windows are better never used a Mac and are just against it just be against it. They all sound so stubborn. You can't even compare the two, it's a totally different league. Switching to Mac after 20+years of using Windows PCs is the best thing I ever did. I could never go back to a shitty Windows system. People that tell otherwise just don't know what they are talking about. They probably never tried a Mac, because if they did, they wouldn't stick with their Windows PC.

A very wrong statement. I'm familiar with Mas OS X much better than a majority of Apple users that post here. And yes, I believe that Windows is the best OS for x86-64 platform. At least for the today.

Many that I had seen tried a Mac 10 years ago and didn't like it or get the hang of it. The world is much different now and the Mac OS is far superior.

I've worked with all version of Windows since 2.0, most of Linux flavors, FreeBSD and MacOS. The last one is by far the best imho.

Yes the new Mac's are different to that ones that we knew 10 years ago. The old Apple computers were really unique because of their PowerPC-based architecture.

All the modern Mac's are clones of the IBM PC platform - the have absolutely the same hardware as any other Intel-based computers like Sony, Lenovo and others.

So there is no such a platform as Mac anymore.

The best operating system is the one which has more applications. So I believe it's obvious which OS is the best.

The following funny picture is not just a joke. It simple shows that Windows in more universal.

And another one:

Can you see any Mac there?

I've worked with plenty of Macs, build custom PCs, have experience with many flavors of linux, freebsd & openbsd, and I would not switch to a Mac still.

That is obviously a different situation. They are probably running tons of custom written software etc. that has been written for windows many years ago.
If you look at modern offices at all the big new web firms you will see mainly Macs.

Of course for many specific industries and certain companies and network setups, etc. Macs are probably not the best solution, but for a normal day to day user, webmaster, coder, designer, etc. a Mac is just a lot more convenient than a windows PC.

Incorrect - Although apple does not make the components, it's hardware is specked, chosen, tested and assembled to get the most out of the Apple OS.

Case in point: While we regularly work on and have to replace parts and towers in our call center, mostly Dell, call center environment at NETbilling, the Macs that we have run perfectly, year after year. I still have a G4 300 (12 years old now I think) being used pin my office as a media center and transaction monitor and has never even been worked on and maybe rebooted 10x.

Another example. One of the large middle schools here in my city recently (last school year) switched their servers and office/classroom computers to Macs and have reduced their IT staff from 3 to one full time tech. That says alot right there.

Apple is doing something right.
