Democrats, Republicans Celebrate Pitiful Excuse For Common Ground

Following Sunday?s pathetic excuse for an agreement on raising the government?s borrowing limit, Democrats and Republicans took time to celebrate the meager, ineffective deal, calling it ?a testament to the not-so-great things that can happen in Washington when both parties barely come together and agree to not really accomplish anything.? ?It took months of phone calls, negotiations, and meetings, but finally we created a pretty sad version of a framework that, we?re happy to say, none of us is really proud of, and that doesn?t really do much to solve our country?s fiscal problems at all,? said House Speaker John Boehner, who gave a cheerful thumbs up and added that the sorry piece of legislation was expected to pass both houses of Congress with a really pitiful display of bipartisan support. ?Once again, Democrats and Republicans have demonstrated why our mangled, fractured, barely functioning democracy is the greatest in the world.? At press time, members of both parties were trying to explain to their supporters how the budget agreement could in any possible way be construed as a victory for them.

Of course, it's yet another great deal for the Republicans. Boehner came in his pants when he got this deal.

Unfortunately for Obama, it's just another cave-in. He's one of the smartest presidents the US has had, but he just caves in and gives the Republicans every single fucking thing they want. It's really sad.

nope. democrats got exactly what they wanted. Deficit spending as far as the eye can see, a toothless committee to enact fake cuts like winding down iraq, & kick the can past the next election.

This is the second time there is a giant fight on a major issue (health care bill & this) & the bill that passes reforms NOTHING. Several years down we will still have an out-of-control medical system & an out-of-control deficit.

The winner is the Tea party, who will grow in power as the finances get worse.

I agree, I read what they cut and the Bull Shit book keeping they did to get this, things are just going to get worse and the Tea Party Elected officials stood their ground, good for them.

They feel pretty good, most of those they elected stood their ground on this, if not all

think about that

He is not very smart, but seems to think he knows what is best for us. Too bad we can not elect him to be our next President.
