NO PROBLEM...

A lot of causal viewers of GFY see my 'I like poo' comment in threads, and think I am just a complete asshole...

What they DONT see, is that more often than not, my 'Stupid' comment has bumped a post back up from the graveyard of 'Page 2' lol

The numbers you typed do not jive with the numbers on your link for Germany.

Quote:
Germany has the largest television market in Europe and it is also one of the most competitive. More than 37 million households had a TV set at the end of 2009 in Germany, of which 50.1% received television by cable and 43.7% by satellite. The number of households with access to digital television had reached almost 62% by June 2010, according to the figures published by the ALM (Association of State Media Authorities).

Cable represents the most common mode of television distribution, and the digitisation of the network reached almost 34% at the end of 2009. The sector has experienced major consolidation in the last few years. There are now just four major operators. Kabel Deutschland, the country's leading cable operator, had 9.8 million subscribers at the end of 2009. Unity Media (who in recent years took over Ish, Iesy, Tele-Columbus and Arena) was taken over by Liberty Global in November 2009. In June 2010 Unity Media had 4.5 million customers, of which 32% had digital cable. A third company is Kabel BW with 2.3m customers at the end of 2009. Orion Cable (with a total of 3.3m subscribers) operates through Telecolumbus (EWT Multimedia), and also holds some shares in Primacom Cable

I'd respond that you want as much as possible! I won't be able to offer you any form of realistic answer based on the german market... Without speaking numbers, you usually have your ONDEMAND channels (hotel network, VOD TV) and would negotiate a fair profit exchange/royalty/commission of at least 20% or more depending on the complexity of bringing your material to a broadcast level on TV (film boards, editing, approvals, fees).

For outright sale of content useage, be very cautious of the terms of how this content is used - most importantly a length of contract to be sure at some point it ends and your material isn't used as filler - foreverrrrrrrrr.

I'd be glad to speak of our experiences and wish you well.
