Paxum WTF?

Did i win some unknown lotto?

Woke up today with a message in my email:

"EFT Transaction #xxxx was successful
The transaction #xxxx has been successfully completed. The system returned the folowing message: Funded

Sincerely,
Paxum Inc."

Checked my Paxum account and it's been loaded with some nice chunk of change, claiming EFT (ACH) transaction from my bank. Now i'm like WTF did my paxum has been hacked?! - went to check my balance in my bank - everything remains there as it should be, nothing was pulled out from it.

While checking all of this and typing this post, new EFTs keep rolling in. It feels like I won a lotto but i'm sane enough to realize this is some kind of accounting mistake.

Paxum check your books!
I wouldn't mind these fee money if you tell me there is no mistake ;)

lol, if i didn't bring this up they would have caught it at some point anyways, and i would have not liked something like paypal would do pulling funds from my banking on their own afterwords. if there is a problem, it's better be investigated and resolved, better for all paxum users so it won't happen in the future. i would certainly not appreciate to be in the opposite side with having some funds missing, and some dude in asia or east europe pulling them from ATM as quick as possible

Paxum has been preparing some new upgrades which will be implemented soon. As part of the upgrade process we had to make some changes to the system to facilitate these additions. During this process it seems there was a technical error which resulted in some EFT deposits being delivered erroneously.

We have placed the Paxum system into maintenance mode in order to correct this error. Please rest assured that all funds will be where they should be, and you will be able to log back into your accounts soon.

We appreciate your patience while we correct this issue.

Maybe they'll credit your account with some cash or never charge you a fee again for bringing this huge rogue programmer error to their attention.

Everything back in order now, my paxum balance restored to its original state.
Someone must be happy somewhere for getting their funds without further delays.
And I'm just glad that my paxum account and bank balance haven't been compromised in any way.

Better verify your security very thoroughly. If I were a hacker one of the things I might do is transfer funds to other people besides myself to give some plausible deniability as well as to buy some time and throw off suspicions. Even better would be to compromise the code and send money to 10% of users making sure I was among that 10%. It would look much less suspicious than if it were to all say go to one account...

Please note, no accounts were compromised by external attacks in any way. This was a technical bug caused by upgrades to our system for upcoming additions to our service. I posted this earlier in this thread:
