West Memphis Three.. to be freed
Not sure how many remember this case but there were 2 documentaries about these guys done by HBO productions.. Paradise Lost which was about their conviction and later Paradise Lost 2 which showed the many holes in the case.
Essentially 3 teenage kids were convicted of killing 3 young boys in small town bible belt America, because they looked different even though there was very little evidence and later even DNA showed it was someone else. They were finally released after 18 years because the state admitted they didn't have the evidence to get a new conviction in a long awaited new trial. Pretty fucked up that even today people can be locked away by a jury because bible thumpers thought they were satin worshipers. It also appears HBO has been working on a third follow up documentary covering their case that is set to debut in Sept. |
