According to cltampa.com the for-profit Florida based ICM Registry LLC has been charged with overseeing the .xxx registration. ICM claims this .xxx domain shift will make for ?a good housekeeping seal of approval for adult sites??whatever that means.

While non-adult companies only have to pay $10 a year for their .com domain names, the annual registration fee for each .xxx domain starts at $60. With application fees, this will come to around $100 a year.

Companies will have until Oct. 28 to claim their .xxx domain or to opt-out. On Nov. 8, ICM will have an 18-day period where established adult-entertainment owners can apply for .xxx domains. Then, on Dec. 7, ICM will allow anyone who wants an adult site to purchase an .xxx domain.
