^^^ Why mainstream promotion is better than adult these days.

Ok, I'm not a big player in the Adult industry by any means and probably never will be especially not now with the way things have changed in our industry.

Even when the gettin was good back in late 90's and early 2000's I was only a $50-75k annual earner with adult income. That has slowly dipped down year after year and I don't see it going the other direction anytime soon. If I hit 7k this year I'd be surprised, but I also don't rely on this as an income. It's just bonus money really in my mind.

I think anyone trying to get into adult promotion today is making a huge mistake and if you have been struggling in this business like I have for quite some time now then I think its definitly time you jump ship and stop spinning your wheels in adult when there is money to be made in mainstream.

Here is the point of this post >>> Traffic looking for mainstream products like: shoes, tvs, clothing, electronics etc. are in the buying mood and ready to spend money. You don't have to convince these peopel that they need to spend money all you have to do is have the product they are looking to purchase at a fair price and they are ready to spend.

Take adult traffic on the other hand. Nobody looking for adult is surfing around trying to decide where to spend their money becuase the mindset for and adult surfer is that they aren't planning on paying for adult material and actually want it for free. You see, you have to try really fucking hard to convince an adult surfer to spend their money and whip out their credit card becuase the truth is they really don't want to especially these days.

Back in the day of AdultBouncer, SexKey, TokenSystems, and all those Pay Per View netwoks that were they were cleaning up and I was one of them because people loved the concept of being able to pay for just want they wanted to see and just one girl or movie still caught their eye and they just had to buy. Man I loved those days!

Now, you can give them a full 40 minute movie for absolutely nothing and they still aren't happy or they are but they want more and they want it for free. Doing something like this back in the good ole days was never done and it didn't need to be and people spent like crazy.

Today it is so hard to get a new adult customer and if you do get them they don't stay members for long at all and then you have to keep trying to convince new ones to join your site and it's an endless battle that never ends. Face it, things aren't going to get any easier for a long time my friends.

If you couldn't already tell I'm an excellent blog writer and just love putting my thoughts onto the web. Now just need to channel that creative energy into promotion and reviewing mainstream products and be a search engine's dream come true becuase of my custom descriptive and very detailed thought out content that they love to rank!

Mainstream is better these days because there is MORE money in that business.

You must go where the action is.. 10 years ago the action was in adult. Even 5 years ago.

But right now, the action and the money is in mainstream. No doubt about it.

Just do a test. Try to sell a site in adult.. nobody will buy it or they will ask you to buy it for pennies...

Try to sell a similar site in mainstream (similar in the earning it does per month) and people will fight and do a better offer to buy it.


Try to sell ads on an average blog in adult... NOBODY will buy, NOBODY, even if you have 10K google per day...

Try to sell on mainstream and they will pay you 1000 dollars per month for each ad, and 6 months upfront...

Just two examples.

Of course adult was like mainstream 5 years ago. But not anymore. LESS MONEY and more people fighting for that smaller pie.

It's always been better for people that actually know how to market on the internet. "Mainstream" is a figment of your imagination, it only exists in adult forum discussions. There is "adult" and then there is the other 99.99% of online marketing.
