pretty good quote about the occupy wallstreet mob.

Exhibit C. To the villainy-of-the-rich theme emanating from Washington, a child is born: Occupy Wall Street. Starbucks-sipping, Levi?s-clad, iPhone-clutching protesters denounce corporate America even as they weep for Steve Jobs, corporate titan, billionaire eight times over.

These indignant indolents saddled with their $50,000 student loans and English degrees have decided that their lack of gainful employment is rooted in the malice of the millionaires on whose homes they are now marching ? to the applause of Democrats suffering acute Tea Party envy and now salivating at the energy these big-government anarchists will presumably give their cause.

Except that the real Tea Party actually had a program ? less government, less regulation, less taxation, less debt. What?s the Occupy Wall Street program? Eat the rich.

And then what? Haven?t gotten that far.

No postprandial plans. But no matter. After all, this is not about programs or policies. This is about scapegoating, a failed administration trying to save itself by blaming our troubles ? and its failures ? on class enemies, turning general discontent into rage against a malign few.

That "want" is particularly funny because it is now more obvious than ever that a college education really doesn't mean all that much. It takes much more than a piece of paper and 4-5 years in school.

Next they will want free jobs to match their free college tuition.

What I find most humorous, besides their gripes being everything from anti war - to anti rich, is the ones who complain about the rich having all of the political power.

If these hippie, liberal morons would organize to get out and vote vs protesting then they would have political control.

I heard one of them saying " The richest 1% controls all of the political power". Well dumb asses, if you organized the other 99% to go out and vote YOU would have the political power. You would pick the candidates and could easily replace them if they didn't do what you wanted. The reason the 1% do have political influence is because most people don't vote.

These people who cry about not having control, most of them are the same ones that don't vote. If they took the same amount of energy they spend bitching and protesting and spent that on organizing and getting people to vote they would accomplish their goals. However, protesting is cool and a lot more fun for them.

Neither work, or pay, for what they want....

A lot of these people who want the government holding their wittle hand, and doing everything for them. But of course, no one wants to pay for it in taxes. I guess the government is just suppose to keep pulling money out of thin air (i.e. China).

Why people want the government up in their business 24/7/365 is beyond me.

Sure, let's shut down all of these companies. You won't be able to wear your Levi's Jeans while using your iMac to find the nearest Starbucks.

99% of the tea party has never heard of your boogie men, let alone received money from them.
Just as successful people can't understand the occupy wallstreet crowd, you don't understand the tea party. (beyond what your liberal sources have told you)

Yeah the whole Koch bros funded tea party is a myth. Minus all this stuff.

"Americans for Prosperity Foundation?an organization that David Koch started, in 2004"

"A Republican campaign consultant who has done research on behalf of Charles and David Koch said of the Tea Party, ?The Koch brothers gave the money that founded it. It?s like they put the seeds in the ground."

"And she noted that Americans for Prosperity had provided Tea Party activists with lists of elected officials to target. She said of the Kochs, ?They?re certainly our people. David?s the chairman of our board. I?ve certainly met with them, and I?m very appreciative of what they do.?

"Americans for Prosperity has worked closely with the Tea Party since the movement?s inception. In the weeks before the first Tax Day protests, in April, 2009, Americans for Prosperity hosted a Web site offering supporters ?Tea Party Talking Points.?

like i said....pawns

there's not much to understand about either group. when you get down to the people they all want the same thing. but the whole "tea party is more grassroots" shit is highly laughable, and touting them for their organization skills only supports that laughter.

The Tea party didn't really have a focused message from the start and all the same hate speech aimed toward the left was and still is common place for them.

The only reason they managed to grow into any sort of real movement was because it was helped along by the right wing.

Notice when the Religious Right exited the stage in came the Tea Party as the Right's next political moment.

One thing I am tired of hearing about is the super rich acting like they're paying 30%+ of their income to to the IRS.

Warren Buffet paid 17.4% in 2010.

Guess what? Most middle class people are paying about the same %, some much more than that.

If we're going to have a debate, let's at least be honest about who is bringing what to the table.

If we're going to have a debate, let's at least be honest about who is bringing what to the table.
the rich DO pay about 30%+ in taxes as seen here:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...d0iK_blog.html

When you add up all of the various taxes, and look at the effective tax rates, it is clear the tax system is already pretty progressive. Everyone pays some tax, even those who pay no federal income taxes, and the wealthiest pay a larger percentage share of taxes. Here?s the effective tax rate for all of the groups, according to the CBO:
Lowest quintile (23.4 million taxpayers), zero to $18,900: 4.3 percent
Second lowest quintile (22.4 million), $18,900-$32,100: 10.2 percent
Middle quintile (22.9 million), $32,100-$47,400: 14.2 percent
Fourth quintile (23 million), $47,400-$71,200: 17.6 percent
Highest quintile (23.6 million), above $71,200: 25.8 percent
Top 10 percent (12 million), minimum income of $98,100: 27.5 percent
Top 5 percent (5.9 million), minimum income of $134,400: 29 percent
Top 1 percent (1.1 million), minimum income of $332,300: 31.2 percent

Charles and David Koch, the secretive billionaire brothers behind the Koch Industries, are a huge financial force in the conservative political movement. According to one estimate, they've contributed more than $100 million to conservative political causes, and a foundation that they back has trained thousands of Tea Party activists.

The trading with Iran involved Koch subsidiaries in Germany and Italy providing key components for a huge state-owned petro-chemical plant, despite a U.S. ban on trade with Iran since 1995.

One order was placed on January 29, 2003, the day after President Bush told Congress in his State of the Union message that Iran continued to be an enemy of the U.S. that "represses its people, pursues weapons of mass destruction and supports terror."

It seems like the Rich need to stop vilifying themselves with their support of the occupy movement. It seems like the top earners or "intelligent" people support ows more than any other group.

Wonder what that is all about?

"Occupy Wall Street most popular with high earners"
Less than $ 30,000: 35-27
$ 30,000 to $ 50,000: 35-28
$ 50,000 to $ 75,000: 34-40
$ 75,000 to $ 100,000: 33-35
Over $ 100,000: 44-31
Declined to Answer: 24-30

no, you're simply not bright enough to understand what this means:
"""In April, 2009, Melissa Cohlmia, a company spokesperson, denied that the Kochs had direct links to the Tea Party, saying that Americans for Prosperity is ?an independent organization and Koch companies do not in any way direct their activities.?
