Yeah wondering this for a while now. How does this work? Very, very shady indeed.

The fact that there are named being auctioned off while the rest of us can't even pay the $100 and get an active .xxx domain through godaddy til December has pissed me off enough I probably won't buy one now.

Totally shady money grab, all the drama I still wanted one and would have payed their inflated price. But seeing this go on now, forget it.

too shady and scammy

I joined the founders program with .xxx and secured my names that way. That enabled me to launch sites before they could officially go live, which I believe is the first week in December. I still had to pay for my names so there was nothing shady there or any scams. They did not hide the details of the founders program and i believe it was open to everyone. I found the details on their website and took them up on the opportunity. I have launched 2 sites so far, casting.xxx (launched in August) and orgasms.xxx (launched in September)and launch a 3rd one in a few days called kiss.xxx. There is no way I would be able to own those domains in the .com. So far, I have not had any negativity about the sites being on a .xxx domain, although I expect my response to this thread may cause some, but I hope not.

The ICM registry itself is putting these domains directly into the auctions.

Hi MaDalton, those are the names that the girls and their agents give us to use. As you can see, they introduce themselves on the videos.

We are a brand new network. We had previously produced for a well known site for around 10 years, shooting and editing over 200 movies and we decided to start our own company and network of sites. For us, buying .xxx domains was a no brainer as we simply could not get any good .coms that were either available or realistically priced.

those are the names the girls and their agents give us to use. If the girls were wanting to use anything different then they would say different names when they introduce themselves on the videos. The girls know they are being filmed from start to finish in the interview.

I looked at the traffic that orgasms.com was getting and there is no site there. Casting.com is not showing any traffic on Alexa (2m+ ranking) and kiss.com is a match dating site, not featuring in Alexa top 100,000.

I don't see how casting.xxx , orgasms.xxx or kiss.xxx (when launched) are losing traffic to the .com's

While on Alexa, I checked our bounce rate on casting.xxx and orgasms.xxx and it is half of what our nearest competitors are showing. So, rather than losing traffic to .coms, we are in fact getting better qualified traffic to our .xxx's simply because there is no doubt to the user that they are visiting an adult website because of the domain extension. Rather like a .bank extension if they did one.

uhh ok then. first off thinking you are getting better 'qualified' traffic because its .xxx is just plain dumb..but i guess lawley fed you that. and it doesn't matter that there is no site on the .com's. the plain fact is a good number of people who might of visited your site will try to return by typing in the .com or orgasmsxxx.com or something similiar. .com has branded into the brains of the public for 20 years.

Thanks for the business advice, but I'd rather take mine from Lawley, because with just under 5,000 members with my 2 live sites, casting.xxx live for 9 weeks, orgasms.xxx live for 5 weeks, his reasoning as to why I should use .xxx domains has worked so far.
every new extention that has been introduced since the intial ones way back have failed to make any impact on the public, yes. you obviously haven't done much research if you don't know this.

your site gets 40k his per day, great. but where are they coming from? Most likely in your case the domain means very little and could be anything since most of the traffic is most likely bought or fed from your other sites (most of which are .com, right?) aside from the traffic you might of gotten from press releases.

Just about anyone here knows more about the adult space than lawley. he was never in adult and has done little more in the past 10 years that constantly try and push .xxx through.

fact is now and will remain that the internet, porn or not = .com in the mind of the public.

you don't seem to have much leakage, thats good though its hard to say what orgasms.com gets. alexa is not something you can rely on to be in any way accurate but it also seems to say you are probably getting very little type in traffic, aside from, like i said the press releases and some interest from adult webmasters curious to see whats going on on a .xxx site.

there is no leakage because the traffic going to orgams.xxx is crappy feeder traffic. Crapy traffic bounces right away and never comes back anyway much less are they going to type in the domain.

but your situation confuses me, you claiming that orgasmxxx.com would be getting a "traffic leak" from orgasm.xxx ? If there was any traffic leak it would be to orgasm.com not orgasmxxx.com

sure we believe you kid....

if by some long shot you really making those sales you would have made the exact same amount of sales on any domain. Or are you trying to say that all of that was free traffic because it is an .xxx domain, and you not sending any traffic... come on we need a good laugh try to tell us all of your traffic is from .xxx and then we will know you are 100% a shill.

OMG this i pure horseshit propaganda... don't even know where to start other than wondering
1. Are these people for real and just idiots trying to protect their investment. Kind of like what domainers do when they blow each other's high prices by trying to give a perception that domain values are high.
2. Is this a fake nick trolling?
3. Was it part of this guys deal when he purchased the domains that he had to do some pr for .xxx ?
4. Congrats the winners.... they are making more money because the surfers see it's a .xxx domain so they trust the site and will buy from it

i doubt they have trademarks to these?
LOL ICM lied to everyone, they are starting with the very best domains and selling them at auction so they can pocket the money. If you own the .com "oh fucking well", which goes against everything ICM was saying about .com owners having first right to buy.

And they are not stopping with the best ones like porn.xxx etc. pretty much any decent domain they going to let it go to auction and to the highest bidder from what it sounds like, unless if you were in their founders program then you got to secure your domains and I am sure spend a lot of money.

I found the details on their website and took them up on the opportunity. I have launched 2 sites so far, casting.xxx (launched in August) and orgasms.xxx (launched in September)and launch a 3rd one in a few days called kiss.xxx. There is no way I would be able to own those domains in the .com. So far, I have not had any negativity about the sites being on a .xxx domain, although I expect my response to this thread may cause some, but I hope not.
good for you, I'd never promote anything on an .xxx and neither would anyone else

how it work
step one find the name you want

step two pay for the name you want $100+

step three wait for .xxx to be open to the public

step four because so many people have backorder the same domain the domain goes to auction

step five you dont win the auction and loose your initial payment for the domain as they charge the $100+ as administration fees

how curious all of the sudden unknown people (and a couple known PR ladies) is emerging to tell us all how convenient .XXX is. Guess it's just some kind of statistics anomaly, no way it's all fake

Thanks for the business advice, but I'd rather take mine from Lawley, because with just under 5,000 members with my 2 live sites, casting.xxx live for 9 weeks, orgasms.xxx live for 5 weeks, his reasoning as to why I should use .xxx domains has worked so far.
Excellent numbers if you really have 5k active members in such a short time. Congrats
