Legitimate porn sites have little interest in the triple X domains

And a few idiots laughed at me for suggesting this.

Quote:
(Mashable) -- Is it just me or is the ICANN plan to corral online porn going terribly wrong? We already have reports that universities are snapping up XXX domains in an effort to get ahead of porn pranksters who want to besmirch a few good online names with smut.

Atop GoDaddy's XXX domain registration page is this: "Let's be adult about it. Create an adult Web presence or protect your brand." This is followed by an explanation of why you'd want to register an XXX domain. Note what it starts with:

"Secure your brand. Protect your reputation."

"Perhaps you'd like to create an adult entertainment website. Or maybe you're here to keep your brand from being registered as a .XXX by someone else. Whatever your reasons for wanting a .XXX domain, you've come to the right place. To check the availability of your domain, type the name you want into the search box above. "

I guess this turn of events was obvious to anyone with half a brain.
I guess those who thought I was foolish thinking this will now come and say sorry. Or prove themselves rude as well as stupid.

sadly here too many look at the name of the poster, decide if the post is good or bad, maybe read the post and then flame or support it.

If Shap says it, it has to be right. I I say it, it has to be wrong.

Whether it is or not, isn't the question. It's only the name of the poster that decides.

It took me a few minutes to figure out the other purpose behind .xxx. If we don't register or don't put porn on .xxxx sites, even if we do have them. Stuart Lawley will sink into bankruptcy. If we use .xxx, then he will make money from non porn with just the threat of us putting porn on a site with a name that people want to protect.

It's way too late for .xxx to have any kind of serious impact. This is a money grab for Lawley right now. In a few months, it will be over and the extension will just be another graveyard like the rest. Kind of funny watching everyone get their panties in a bunch over this when it means absolutely nothing. Mark my words on this.

Most webmasters are pussies. They need something to be scared or or they are lost.

I would love to know how much ICM have spent to date on this. Definitely in the 10s of millions 8 figures. How close to 9 figures?

So how many times do they need to sell the TLDs to recover their investment?

That will decide if this floats or sinks like a stone.

I think people look at the history of the poster. I have a history of talking about what I know and sticking to that. You have a history about talking as an authority on everything. As a result sometimes you make comments that are relevant and dead on and sometimes you talk complete and utter bullshit. Talking out your ass and pretending you know everything about everything has caught up to you and now people tune you out. That is why I stick to discussing what i know
