This year in March we are going to Spain for 3 weeks and her European visa is not valid for entry into Spain, she has to apply for a different visa, and we have been told that it will be for the exact number of days she her tickets are for, and it will be a onetime only visa. Too many factors to draw conclusions, but you can pretty much assume is was not because she is short.
