Have you checked the Levenshtein distance between your strings being spun ?

Google is getting pretty smart and spun content just doesn't cut it. It wont be too long before all the people using spun content are crying on forums because they just got banned by Google.

Quality original content is the only way to go, anyone telling you differently is selling you useless spinning solutions or is blind to the many signals Google has been sending over the past year.

All the spun content will go on the lower links and on free splogs. It's a programming exercise for me as well, which is healthy.

My version is just a very stupid program that grabs synonyms from thesaurus.com and uses them without any common usage weighting or other intelligence.

What is really needed is something that will understand the meaning of a sentence or paragraph, and rewrite it from scratch... like a 16 year old kid with an assignment due in 5 hours. This is of course significantly more complex than merely substituting words.

Content spinning is not SEO, it's spam.

Spun content benefits nobody. Spun content is horrible to read, provides almost not benefit to your search rankings, it just allows you to build out volume and we saw how that played out for content farms with the Farmer / Panda updates.
