Shawshank redemption I think is the name on it. The green river killer documentary is great. The craigslist killer was actually pretty good.

Here are a few movies you may hopefully like? I am trying to think of ones that you may not have seen as it looks like you have seen a few.

First snow has mixed reviews but I think I remember enjoying it.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0432289/

Taking lives, I haven't seen it in a long time but I think it was good. Serial killer movie.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364045/

Synecdoche, New York is a bit strange. I remember wanting to watch it again thinking I probably missed some stuff but I never got around to it.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0383028/

This next one is a chick flick and I should probably be ashamed for publicly admitting to liking it but it is probably my favorite. Eternal Sunshine
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338013/
I like the effects and the story. Its a love story but it doesn't get mushy until the very end really.

SLC punk is always good. I am sure you've seen it but its a fun one none the less.
Not what you asked for genre wise but i like it lol.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0133189/

If you like serial killers they usually have based on true story serial killer movies like Gacie, Dahmer, etc..
on Netflix. Some or good and some are comically horrible but you can usually spot those fairly fast.

Not all of em follow your description but it's all I got!
Good luck finding some entertainment!

Just watched 'I Melt With You' with the guy from hung, jeremy piven, rob lowe and some other guy

I liked it actually. Unique. Kinda dark.

And I always recommend Memento in every movie thread

Someone recommended this to me, but I haven't seen it myself.
They said it was pretty good. The trailer looks good but it has some mixed reviews so idk.
Stone

I feel stupid mentioning this as I am sure everyone has seen this movie but American History X is pretty good. I just watched it again out of boredom and since it had been so long, it kept me entertained.

I liked The Road, but 1 thing did annoy me: that kid constantly kept saying "papa papa" when faced with a dangerous situation... often putting himself in more danger by giving away his position. I'd expect a kid that was raised in an environment like that to instinctively shut up and hide...
