What the hell happened to Hill Street Blues

Season 4 Episode one sounds like it has dubbed over voices and the characters they're not themselves ...

One possibility, music in original was not licensed for DVD release or later syndication perhaps.

They have to re-dub the dialogue to remove the music, seen this in later broadcasts of some movies like Slapshot where they had to go back and re-dub a bunch of it because the music lyrics were not licensed for the re broadcasts.

Maybe George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, or one of their idiotic politically correct friends produced the show, and they CGI'd all kinds of new age shit into it for re-syndication. Either that or you're a drunken idiot.

I don't know - I didn't watch the show then, and I won't ever watch it now.

Could be. I know nothing about what music was used in Hill Street Blues, but I do know that "Tour of Duty" used the Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" during the opening credits when it aired, but it was changed to a different song on the DVD release because of licensing rights.

Tour of duty was 12 midnight Friday night stoned viewing in the UK late 80's/early 90's, some fine music all though that series.

What the hell do you have to do to get the real Hill Street Blues, if you can't even buy the real one?
