Looking for something similar to what us old timers used back in the day when free hosts were all the rage.

Anything out there you guys could recommend? I need something for a project I have been dreaming up.

These days, if you know how to do it, wordpress is a fuckng awesome option for a free blog host.

If I mention thumblogger , you will say : I know ... For me , I will never use any other free hosts for blogging except the thumblogger ... in the mean time , you can try sexusblog.com

No I am not looking to use a free service for myself. I am looking to run a free service without custom scripting my own cms/admin.

Actually yes, Wordpress. Used to be called WPMU as in wordpress multi user, now it is called multisite and is built in.

http://mu.wordpress.org/ was the old url.

Only an idiot wouldn't know that Wordpress is what pretty much everyone uses for this.
