this has been bugging me...(pc problem)
I'm pretty good when it comes to diagnosing PC problems, but this one has been bugging the living shit out of me.
I have a PC in my garage I use often with a wireless connection (one of those with a long wire, and a big receiver). Used to work PERFECTLY, damn near matched the speed of my wired connections. Recently bought a video card because the on board wasn't cutting it, and was forced to move the wireless card down 1 PCI slot. All of a sudden I get shit speeds -- like 1/10th of what I should be getting. My connection goes from full bars to 3 bars. I don't have another slot to put it in because it's a micro-atx board. Have checked all of the software/driver settings to make sure it wasn't limiting the card. Anyone have any ideas? |

do you experience slower speeds in this new slot with and without the video card installed? have you checked your user manual to verify that both of these slots are identical?

I haven't checked, but that's my next step. Although if i remove the video card and go back to onbard, I have a 100$ doorstop.

personally, I would remove video card and test.
See if the speed returns. |

This might be the problem. When i went to plug it into the other slot, 2 of the small shielded cables from the F-USB snuck their way into the slot. I pushed....realized they were in there afterward, removed them, and re-installed. might have damaged that gold coating on the card |
