I think we pay about $100 a month. Coverage for 2 cars, one being a convertible.

It's probably a little bit less than that figure, I don't know specifically off the top of my head.

Hold on there. Our current economic plan basically boils down to "be more like Europe". Suddenly that doesn't seem like such a good idea.

as long as you don't have any tickets/accidents, just liability insurance is pretty cheap, few hundred per year...

if you want comprehensive coverage it can get expensive, $1k+/year for any decent car...

depends on so many factors your car, it's color, where you live (post/zip code-based), how far you drive to work, your driving history, recent accidents etc.

For our Lexus we pay I think $800+/yr in South Florida, non-garage kept, no speeding tickets or accidents. Our Chevy cost $130 a month for similar coverage

I pay $200 a month for full coverage on two vehicles with low deductibles, and one of them is an SVT Raptor 4x4 offroad truck. And thats in Las Vegas where car insurance is more expensive than most other places.

If your driving record and credit rating isnt bad, then its not that expensive.

We pay $2600 / year to insure a 2001 Toyota Highlander and a 2007 BMW 335i Sedan.

$1000 / year for the Highlander. $1600 / year for the 335.

I have 1 red light violation, 1 speeding ticket, and my girlfriend also has 1 speeding ticket.

It depends on a TON of factors. Age, gender, tickets/accidents, what type of vehicle, what state you're in, TONS of different factors go into it.

Males are more expensive than females, younger drivers and 70+ drivers pay more. Florida is more expensive than Minnesota, which is more expensive than Wisconsin.

An 18 year old with no tickets will pay a lot more than a 32 year old with a speeding ticket.

When I was 20 I had full coverage insurance on a brand new SUV and I paid about $190 a month for insurance. Ten years later I have full coverage insurance on a car and I pay $40 a month.

Depends on what type of car you're trying to insure and your driving history.

A little bit OFF, but: WOW! These prices I read here...

I do pay 15500 HUF (70$) YEARLY for basic insurance + 78500 HUF (356$) for all cover (theft, service, incidents, health insurance, baggage insurance, travel insurance, 365/24/7 road assistance) also YEARLY for my 2007 Grande Punto (1.4, 58 hp, 5 doors).

Insurers race for the customers brought prices way down here in Hungary in the recent years for sure...

Btw, the car looks like this:
