Any buy/use tools from Harbor Freight? - GoFuckYourself.com

I need a router for the bar I'm rebuilding in my garage.

Harbor Freight has them for < 100$....and all the other ones I've seen are 250$+.

Probably will only use it for 30 minutes then never again.

Will the damn thing last that long?

I bought a electric hand grinder from there. I went through 4 wire wheels and burnt it up.
So about 2 hours of run time I guess.
Only spent $15.00 on it though.

I own more tools than most, so I'll tell you how to work harbor freight. Buy it right when you are ready to use it, run the shit out of it and get the job done. Keep the box and receipt and manual. If it fails in the first 30 to 60 days depending on the tool, they will replace it.
I won't use cheap handtools, they will bust your knuckles and mine have been busted enough. Air tools are a pretty good bargain, just use extra air tool oil. Things like floor jacks, get the 5 ton, not the little on. Power tools, if it's for a couple jobs, sure, if it's your business, NO. As a business, clients look at your tools and if you roll up with harbor freight, it won't look good

Lol I've spent so much damn money at Harbor Freight. I love that place. Like a kid in a candy store sometimes buying shit I don't even really need. I buy quality tools that need to be quality/durable, anything else I get at Harbor..

dont buy that ching chang meow shit from them. i got a few tools to replace a trans and halfshalfs years back and they immediately broke, before i even finished the job i stripped torx bits, broke a torque wrench, and rounded sockets in a sec. their metals are forged out of gummy bears ive never had tools so fn' soft

I'm heading over there today to buy a big ass compressor. They're hit and miss with some stuff but I'm generally happy with their stuff.

Get on their mailing list for 20% coupons too.

Last month I needed a toolchest, they had a nice roller chest for $199 that if I joined the "club" for 20 bucks it went down to the member sale price of $149, no brainer, now for a year I get all the "inside member" alerts and coupons.

That's a great time to buy Harbor Freight. My Harbor Freight tools have lasted just fine for cheap tools. I wouldn't buy a ratchet driver there since that's something you use a lot.

I've got a few tools from harbor freight. I prefer not to buy there because the quality isn't very good, but you can find some gems for sure.

For example, there's a rolling tool box there, and they bought the plans and rights to it from Snap On. You're pretty much getting an old style snap on tool box for a harbor freight price.

I've got a hammer from there, and a cheap grinder that's held up OK for one job so far. I'd buy a toolbox from there, and I've heard the air compresors are alright.

There are "buyer's guides" and lists of "harbor freight tools that don't suck" if you google it.

You have to be choosy at Harbor Freight. Many of the tools are sub par but they look cheap in the store too so only pick the items that are made of material harder then pewter.

I used to have a car audio shop. The tools I bought for myself were name brand. the tools I bought for employee's to use were from Harbor Freight, they were nowhere near the same feeling and quality but served their purpose. I'm sure the router will work fine for you.
