Either you or your vet dropped the ball by not having his shots up to date.

My father's dog came down with this two years ago. Now when he goes out of town the Duffster stays with me. He was under the weather for a week or so, but was back to normal shortly thereafter.

He's been given the shot that prevents kennel cough? Any dog that's around strange dogs should have one.

both my dogs get shots for it and every once in awhile they still get it when i put them in the pet hotel at petsmart. it's not very serious but extremely contagious and hard to prevent every time. it will go away by itself but i always get them meds to knock it out.

Kennel Cough doesn't get a shot it gets an oral spray in the mouth. It's really very hit and miss and many vets don't even reccomend doing it because it's not particularily effective.

Then I've been getting fucked for 15 years

Actually her paper work shows; Canine Influenza Booster CIV, under vaccinations done ... I was assuming it was a shot. I'm taking her in next week for an arthritis shot and will bring this up. Thanks.

I would say about 99% chance it is because of the dog park.

Most vets run a scam of scare tactics.

I have a dog who has never seen a vet and is extremely healthy.

My dog has been exposed to every illness and has gotten over it.

My advice is to not baby your dog unless their sickness goes beyond five days.

I just adopted a dog from the shelter that came home with kennel cough. It went away on its own after a couple weeks. Vet said it was nothing to worry about.

Both the puppies we adopted in Jan had it. Came from the same shelter, which is common... On has it they all get it.

A good dosage of meds and keep him/her away from other puppies and will be fine in a week or so

My German Shepherd got it when she was about 6 months old. Went to the vet, got some antibiotics and she was all better in about 2 weeks.

You might also try a humidifier to help with the kennel cough.

Give it a spoonful of honey every 6 hours... Thats what our vet told us for our min-pin and it worked great, within a few days he was back to full health

Very Common, and can be very tiring. It is like a combo of a cold and flu.
It seems very bad, but the MAIN thing is keep the dog / Puppy Hydrated. You can get pedelite for babies if the dog / puppy gets to sick and pukes to much.

The nasal spray is just like the Flu vaccination, it has about 3 common strains but will not prevent ALL strains.

Kennels, shelters, dog pounds, have it BAD.

Dogs are contagious without showing any symptoms, and it is VERY Easy to catch.

You will hear numbers of 7, 14, 21 days for how long it lasts. Again depends on which strain, your breed of dog, and proper nutrition and hydration.
