Simple burglary gone very bad or "something more sinister" (as suggested by the dead burglars' relatives)?

Depending on how the police handle this, this might become a bigger story.

Family and friends of Skinner and Everette said they don't buy the police explanation of events.

?I want to know what really happened,? Skinner's mother, Sherry Lynn Skinner, told The Daily News on Monday while being consoled at her Banks Street home by family, friends and neighbors.

Skinner?s family and friends said they believed Skinner and Everett knew the men who killed them and that there was much more to the story than a simple breaking and entering gone bad. Those friends said they knew Skinner and Everett where not angels, but also felt they didn't deserve to die.

but basically there were 2-3 marines just back from the war outside of a store collecting money for childrens charities. When out of the store burts a knife wielding robber who had just robbed the store they were in front of. Well they tried to stop him, but he stabbed one of them in the leg. That is where the police report kicks in and cites that the robber sustained the following injuries when he rann out of the store and fell off the curb:
-broken arms(multiple)
-broken leg
- multiple lacerations ie cuts
multiple brusies about the body
-a broken eye socket
etc etc etc


that was the police report, backed up with eye witness reports..lol

dont rob a place with 3 marines standing out front..im just sayin

the article states this is common in that area, another marine just shot someone climibing in a window, which totally proves it wasnt self defense but just another case of trigger happy person pulling trigger.

I would imagine it is common in that area. I lived there when I was in the Marines, and once outside of town there wasn't much. I remember lots of what I'll call "low income people" on my drives down to Florida. And I don't always mean black folk either.

How exactly does the fact that the perp was climbing into the intended victims window prove it's NOT self defense? You're saying that if people were coming into your house through the windows, rather than defending yourself you would .. what? Die?

Now it doesn't necessarily price that shooting was necessary for self defense - when some guys were climbing in my window I just stood there pointing a double barreled shotgun toward them. Once they got half way in and realized they were looking down the twin barrels of the 12 gauge they left in a hurry, no shots fired.

Been burglarized many years ago in former home, not pleasant, but we were not there.
