Full Albums are now available on YT

Took me 8 mins to que for DL 22 albums. Gotta love YT and the digital gen

Must be new YT policy and UL'd from the record lables/owners as YT watches that stuff pretty close.

from my sig..

that used to cost what, $300+ at the record store

What's a good program to download audio from YouTube?

I wonder if it would sound comparable to mp3s.. Think you can hear a difference?

http://www.save2pc.com/ works well (free version too) Altho ya need the Ult Version I see for HD. Maybe check the newsgroups.

But I am always looking for a good downloader. http://www.keepvid.com works for all file types I think but that is one at a time.

Ive got a lot of these mp3s but it is nice to have the full album.

For example been looking for this mp3: Eagles - Visions but not available. Now available here if you split it out. Or just leave it as is too.

As far as quality.. dont think they are anywhere near lossless but fairly decent it seems for most Full Albums I've heard.

Quality varies. This eagles album is not the best but many are quite good.

Well Im just looking for a way to download just the audio.. and I'm wondering how it sounds compared to a normal mp3.

As you said, YouTube has some really hard to find stuff on there.

Looks like not EVERY album is available. For example Doobie Brothers - Toulouse Street (always hard to find) is not available (yet) however this is

so not sure what the deal is

Search "Artist full" and lots is there.

They are all encodings tho so best to sample b4 DL'ing as this Doobie's speed seems a tad off to me.

Hey-OOOO!!!!!

Yay for FULL ALBUMS BABY!!! Listening to an entire ALBUM was the way to go "back in the day". Artists made ALBUMS, not individual songs to be downloaded on iTunes.

OH how I miss "back in the day"!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info VJo!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking YT just extended the time they will allow as they used to not allow video ULs over 20 mins or so. So they are prob ULd by guys from out of the US like most other music vids. If you are in the US and UL music vids, usually people in the US are barred from hearing your uploads.

So folks f it up like anything else.

So it all depends on the UL'r. I have a very good ear for classic rock and these two seem fairly high bit rate and right on the button for speed (or very close) and are as good as most mp3s (except lossless).

damn close speed (very good quality)

right on the button speed (excellent quality)

So speed has to be dead on and quality has to be good.

HEY-OOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Good to see ya man Like old times I mowed today already (why I was gone a while ) so my work is sort of done for today sooo I am gonna "bake" some cookies and listen to albums lol

Very true. Something about listening to a full album is much better plus you dont need playlists then either. You can put one on and kill an hour. Or 1 1/2 with the White Album.

I mean if McCartney is cool with YT and even allows embedding man we are in a new age!

There are so many albums I have never really heard such as Lou Reed comes to mind.. let me see..

"lou reed full"

there we go

Seems to be lots up.

Hit me with three good obscure albums or artists MP Let's see whats up.

That Eagles I posted was HS quality tho. And no that is not Howard Stern lol (fucken HS was off all week [again])

But yeah that was horseshit quality. Off speed AND bad encodeing. Like 96K. Cmon people. Nothing less than lossless 320K should be posted.

in honor of my MAN MP

OK lets see about pop..

nope no Lou Christie Fulls

that guy could sing

Also all albums SHOULD list song order, title, time, writer ect below the vid on YT. That is how it should be done.

Diomed.. so another words YES what you hear is exactly what the mp3 will sound like. Converted to mp3 from video holds up very well as long as it started high bit rate and proper speed.

They go back and forth very well. I see keepvid converts it to mp3 for you. I am dl'ing one to see quality. They say "standard quality" but usually mp3s are pretty good coming from vid. You don't lose much.

Ah! Just spotted this. Now that YT knows I like albums they are pitching me some nice stuff..

this is something I have long wanted to hear and post

above vid posted by: kritikospa Music Channel

I need to move to Timbuk Tu so I can hammer you all with some sweet 320K lossless

our model is of course Sarah from Chorpus

here is what I dl'd so far...

The Beatles The Beatles (White Album) [Full Album]
The Beatles Revolver (Full Album)
The Beatles Abbey Road [Full Album]
The Doors Morrison Hotel
Boston Boston (Full Album)
Bruce Springsteen Born To Run (1975) [Full Album]
Bruce Springsteen Born in The USA [Full Album]
Eagles One of these nights (full album HQ) (crappy quality tho)

Weird that they almost all are named the same way.. actually about three patterns there. Maybe some big record lable released a bunch (or someone oversees [out of the U.S.] is posting a ton)

I have most of the mp3s but it is nice to have the album and very convenient so yeah Ill prob keep dling and hope for good quality. I never bother to listen before. Most are good quality usually. I am always dling something anyhow

I dont think they were this plentyful before Candyflip If you search any band name now you get them and you didnt before.

Coming up MP... See what we get..

I use save2pc Ultimate but they want more money to update it so I am also looking for a good app. It still works for now. YT keeps changing stuff so these apps have to keep updating all the time.

I used to use "Free Youtube Downloader" and also "Youtube Downloader" is also out there and free.

I havnt found any that will auto DL a whole cue one after another in succession. I DL two at a time with save2pc. It allows a cue and allows as many simultaneous DL's as you want but you tend to time out if you go over two.

You want one that copies the url to memory (most do that) and then allow multiple files in cue.. most dont do that.

why listen to albums on youtube when you can download any album in perfect quality (320 is not good, either 192 or VBR) at countless sites, torrents etc for free.

And it must also convert to mp3 is best. Or you could convert a batch prob pretty easily.

http://www.keepvid.com (web based) is pretty good and converts to mp3. Now they want to sell you the software but all you need is the web. They go way back and imo are the best web based downloader.

This is true. And the quality will be as good or better. I think YT already has a way bigger selection tho. But yeah there is a lot out there all round.

With YT it is presented nicer with pics and easy to read lists of songs. It is very user friendly. And usually very good quality.

But lossless is best and 320KBps is best. So we agree to disagree there

320K is always better than 192K and constant bit rate is always better than variable bit rate so we agree to disagree there too

Lossless = rip --> flac --> wav --> 320K CBR mp3 is best Tho a bit larger file size.

But for web use.. maybe you are saying.. 192 is ok and is way smaller file size.

But on my puter.. I prefer a bunch of 320s. As file size means nothing then and a 320K from lossless is very sweet and YES better sounding (slightly) than 192. A bit smoother and very high fidelity.

OK done editing here hehe

This is so cool. We should do this in adult. Uploaded full length scenes to a tube site and everybody can watch porn for free!

The first one to do this right is going to become the biggest in adult!

MP start at 6:05 great song.. Might Just Take Your Life

Good Album (very stony and rebellious) the essence of the early 70s

still on break

I think I will just put ALL of my albums on one GFY thread. Would that work? Like 1000 albums on one thread. I like the picture with my music

That is web 3.0 All this saving and shit.. why bother.. they are all right here.

Yep everything is being homoginized into one big free Web 3.0 stew

But that is old news. Might as well play with the toys. They are here.

I promise I wont go to Youporn and post vids from there

I hear ya.

At least ya get a few full albums while tubes steal most of web commerce.

I told ya we should have kept EVERYONE to HTML 1.0 We'd all be making way more money and I could of just listened to my cassettes.. would have been fine

Seriously. So I guess if you cant beat em.. take advantage best you can and get 15,000 MP3s and 1000 albums.

And I suppose 50 gigs of free porn from Youporn.

That is web 3.0.

We get a bunch of silly media and otherwise lose our asses in the marketplace. Unless you own a big tube.

OTOH I bought Deep Purple - Machine Head both in 8 track and the LP and bought many other Lps including many 45s (only maybe 20 8 tracks ) and also bought prob 150 CDs before the web so music made their money and guys like Deep Purple made their money but...

I NEVER MADE MY MONEY before YP (youporn) f'd me in the ass.

OK back to fun

I guess we (us HTML 1.0'rs) had a few good easy years which is about all you can ask for in any marketplace.

Why would you say 192 is better than 320? Doesn't make sense to me, unless you are just worried about file size.

MP's picks..

Yes? Bingo

Emerson, Lake and Palmer? Bingo

Cat Stevens? Doug Stanhope's Girlfriend's name? (that's right, very good) Bingo!

only one tho and no Tea For The Tillerman

Joe Cocker? Bingo (but only one and live)

Marshall Tucker Band? no full

My pic: Joe Walsh? Hell yeah! Two good ones

Well the good Albums go on forever but if you like classic rock that is a good start. Happy downloading

Seems they are all UL'd by private folks (not record labels) who are almost certainly out of the US.

Whether they get a lil adsense revenue or such off those overlay ads and such ..hmm I think they might.

But it's a no go for most songs (not all tho) if your ip is in the US.

Peabody's list is pretty solid.

I have most of the above on vinyl.
You don't need to D/L from Youtube, Baddog. The content is always there. As are full length live concerts. Youtube is a visual Napster.

Google owns it, though, so all is good.

yea i know, it isn't logical but i've always experienced this... somehow the bass is too amplified in 320 so it doesn't sound clear, like it screws up the balance of the sound. The same songs in 192 always sound better to me, much clearer and balanced. So for me i prefer 192 or VBR.
