Addiction to Pepsi Max

A family member of mine is clearly addicted to Pepsi Max and drinks quite a lot of it every day - and gets stressed when fridge is getting low on them.

What the hell is IN Pepsi Max that makes it so addictive? I have also heard the same of some other "diet" versions of sodas and heard of others that have or have had the same issue.

Hmmm... reading about aspartam now, scary shit! The person in question has also, while still drinking it, been working out a lot to lose weight - and of course it does not work at all.

When I was in NZ I went through a phase lasting about 2 years where I drank about 6 liters a day of diet coke.

Those where my worst days mental health wise - Not sure if it was the coke causing it or if I was just self medicating with the coke. Possibly both....

My Father in law is addicted to the stuff as well, being a diabetic he thinks it's fine to drink the shit. At the moment he would be drinking around 5-6 Litres a day, he also can't stand it when there is none in the fridge.

Not good!

I read some more articles, and it is clear - the combination of the caffeine and aspartam makes people completely addicted.

And I thought alcohol was bad....

aspartame is practically harmless compared to the overdose of caffeine he is getting from drinking that that suped up shit. In small amounts its pretty harmless but if you let it get out of control it will raise your blood pressure and everything falls apart from there.

its the caffeine that is addictive more than anything else as well. redbull will kill you twice as fast, especially if you are younger.

They advertise it's lower sugar - people don't realize that diet sodas and aspartame are horrible for you.
