Looking for unmetered server(s) with massive amounts of disk pace
This is for a mainstream photo hosting website that allows users to upload high resolution images. The best I've found so far is from a company called fdcservers which offers up to 8TB per server of disk space.
Who do the tube sites use to host all that data? Feel free to post affiliate links if they are to direct deals, I will use your code if I sign up. Thanks, -Phil |

Anyone can build you a 8TB server if they have the hardware.
You take a 4 bay server, put 2TB in each bay, set up a RAID-10 array, and tada. That being said, it sounds like you should also be shopping for back up solutions. I do not know if I would want to run an enterprise solution on unmetered myself, but it's a good start. ![]() |

I have them in bookmarks, but I never used their services:
http://wizzsolutions.com/servers.php The best they have is 6 x 3TB

FWIW, you can buy 4TB enterprise drives these days, but you'll pay a hefty premium for them. It may work out more cost effective in the short to medium term to lease a server with more bays, and use 2 or 3TB drives.
It's probably worth asking companies for customised quotes as your requirements are a little unusual. |

Have you considered purchasing your server and colocating it? That way you're leasing the rack space, power and internet, but you have full control over the innards of your box.

You can get more than 8TB per server easily.
You better make sure you can serve it all with enough performance though... Do you have a live site or are you just "guessing" that you will need this much space? The problem with storage isnt just HARD DRIVES, you NEED PERFORMANCE, and RAID ARRAYS. RAID means you lose some of the space. You will want a RAID-10 most likely, meaning you lose 50% of your space to the mirroring. So you will need a chassis with 8 bays or more. You can run 8x 3TB drives in RAID-10, which would give you 12TB of usable space. Theres a lot more to it. Someone has to investigate your current server and see what resources your site is most in need of (CPU, MEM, I/O .. ETC) then build a new machine that satisfies your current usage, plus has additional capacity for growth. Is there any reason why you want to stuff it all on 1 server anyways??? Time for you to get a proper managed host to take a look at your current shit, and also build you a new machine based on what you ACTUALLY need.

I just got a great deal on a 100 Mbps unmetered server at www.m3server.com/ .
May be worth a try ;)

I strongly advise against a single machine with 8tb of data serving videos. your server with bottleneck on disk IO on high bandwidth.
If you want to run a serious tube and scale correctly then contact me. We host a lot of large tubes and scale them without problems.

try reflected.net/swiftwill, they have a cloud storage device so you basically have unlimited space.
