I have my sympathy to the Audi, but the japanese one is really cheaper to support.
But the look of Audi is way sexy than Toyota....
I'd jump on Audi.,

I had an Audi a3 sport a few years ago. Wasn't a bad ride. Had a few problems and don't think it handling was that great around corners... and come winter time my breaks would freeze up and you would need pump it to crack the ice.... nearly ran someone over with that one..

Great to look at though...

My brothers son loves his audi's and has had the A3 A4 and now the A5 the first two he purchased second hand and had problems with both, The A4 he had comp problems then he purchesed a new A5 had it for 5 months and the on board computer stuffed up, It was under warrenty but he had to wait 2 weeks to get it sorted out. I had the older coralla about 4 years back and never once had any probs with it, they are good reliable cars

My second car I ever had was a VW Golf mrk2 I drove that thing into the ground did no maintenance on it apart from the MOT requirements and it just kept on going. I ended up selling it for the same price I bought it for, so my experience owning a VW was a good one

if its for the wife, get the corolla, less headache, also it won't get stolen and end up in Siberia..
If you'll drive it too, think about the '04 or newer A3 2.0tdi with a dsg gearbox

Yup, the Audi is closet to a Golf, owned by the same company too. Do you have Golf Plus? VAG expect that to eventually outsell the normal sized golf.

But you don't look gay on avatar.....just kidding, they are all good, does anyone here really think that they would be on market that they are bad . Just choose what you like. Different owners, different maintenance and driving styles, you can't make conclusion based on people's experience here.

Unless Audi makes economical automobiles, it is surely gonna loose it's entire market to Toyota....but still there are many people who prefer Audi rather than Toyota...but Audi also has to be concern about the economical recession through the globe....

Here's the thing with buying cars in poland... If it's low mileage and the car is not expensive for what it is, it's either welded together from 3 cars or the mileage is not real. All the cars here are imported from western europe. If you see a car in poland that was freshly imported and costs 5k euro and has 100k km on it, and if you look in germany and see that cars with 200k km cost 7k euro, where did the importer find such a great car for so cheap with such little mileage and still have room to make a profit?

Not only in Poland, my car is imported from Germany directly, so will be the next one.

Btw. Corollas have excellent reputation, but the newer designs are just terrible, so are the common folk class Mazdas and Hondas - 323 or Civic used to be the ride at the start of the 90's, now they both look - well.... really weird to say at least..

Konrad to the rescue.

I'd save up and get the 1 series, though it'll cost you more for service.

This 3 series looks quite decent and i see the prices are ok overall, you could also aim for a 3 series, depends how new you want it to be.

Its for the wife but i will be driving it occasionally too, and I am tall.
Design wise: I like Audi A3 and BMW Series 1
Price wise: Corolla and Merc A series

Mercs A series are suspiciously cheap comparing to Audi , where is the secret?

I used to own a VW 3 who ran up to 150k kms and when I sold it it was still doing ok.
